- Tedric Thompson has 5 INTs (tied for 6th nationally)
- Jimmie Gilbert 10 sacks (tied for 8th nationally)
- Jimmie Gilbert with 6 forced fumbles (tied for 3rd nationally)
- Ahkello Witherspoon with 15 passes defended (tied for 5th nationally)
- Philip Lindsay with 15 TDs (tied for 7th nationally in rushing TD)

What a year. Remember all the questions we had before the season about Jimmie (and our pass rush in general), Spoon (and if we had a weakness at CB2) and Lindsay (and if we had a P5 quality RB on the roster)? Amazing how decisively those things were answered. Turned into team strengths. I'm blown away, honestly.

I'd add Olugbode, who may not be putting up stats that have him in the top ten of anything, but has transformed himself into a all-around machine and erased some deep doubts about his abilities.

Then u look at the team stats. Ridiculous. We put 600 yds on a good D and held the nations #4 4th qtr scoring offense scoreless. Unbelievable.

What has been shocking is seeing the team's overall rise, while Chido is still the highest predicted draft pick, going in the ~4th round...where's the top 10 respect?!

Yet not one of Thompson, Witherspoon, or Awuzie made the semi-finalist cut for the Thorpe award,

Spoon & Oliver's growth at corner has been the biggest improvement this year other than getting Tupou back. Teams are avoiding Chido and paying for it.

The 15 passes defended jumped out to me

Spoons stats on that and Tedric's on INTs are directly related to "you got to throw it somewhere and it's insanity to try to pick on Chido".

Yup. Even WSU didn't throw at Chido. I can think of 1 or 2 targets early on. After that, nothing.

There was also the "our running game sucks" thread only last month.

I've got a lot of crow to eat there.

To add to that list, the CU D:

Made Michigan QB Wilton Speight look average. (It was Julius Peppers that couldn't be contained)

Sealed the Oregon win with Witherspoon's pick on the final drive

Forced four turnovers against USC, which gave Sam Darnold fits.

Stuffed Heisman candidate Christian McCaffrey

Removed Wazzou gunslinger Luke Falk from any heisman talk.

Shut down ASU's Kalen Ballage, who had just set an NCAA single-game record with 8TDs.

Lead the nation by forcing a turnover in 23 consecutive games.

This list can go on and on.

Is it true that the buffs have not allowed a score on the opening drive all year?

I think not.

Start of the first half, Colorado wins the toss. Defers to the second half. Defends North.
COLO ball on COLO35.
Price, Davis kickoff 65 yards to the OSU0, touchback.

Oregon State at 15:00
1st and 10 at OSU25 Bolden, Victor rush for 10 yards to the OSU35, 1ST DOWN OSU (Laguda, Afolabi).
1st and 10 at OSU35 Garretson, D. sacked for loss of 1 yard to the OSU34 (Tupou, Josh).
2nd and 11 at OSU34 Nall, Ryan rush for 6 yards to the OSU40 (Carrell, Jordan).
3rd and 5 at OSU40 Garretson, D. pass incomplete to Hernandez, T. (Awuzie, Chidobe).
4th and 5 at OSU40 Porebski, Nick punt 51 yards to the COLO9, downed.

I think I saw it was McShay that said he's a top 50 guy right now. Not certain it was Mcshay, but definitely heard that number somewhere.

There cannot be many teams who can claim this stat. No scores by opposing team on first possession thus far in 2016.

CSU, punt (4 plays , 7 yards Time of Possession: 1:30)
Idaho State, punt (5 plays , 11 yards Time of Possession: 2:47)
Michigan punt, (5 plays , 19 yards Time of Possession: 1:32)
Oregon punt, (3 plays , 3 yards Time of Possession: 0:57)
Oregon State punt, ( 5 plays , 15 yards Time of Possession: 2:04)
USC, fumbled on CU 18 yd line (9 plays , 60 yards Time of Possession: 3:14)
Arizona State, punt ( 4 plays , 8 yards Time of Possession: 0:55)
Stanford, punt (4 plays , -3 yards Time of Possession: 2:15)
UCLA, punt (4 plays , -19 yards Time of Possession: 1:45)
Arizona, punt ( 5 plays , 10 yards Time of Possession: 2:16)
Washington, punt. (6 plays , 24 yards Time of Possession: 1:33)

Only USC did something other than punt. (Darnold, Sam rush for 17 yards to the COLO1, fumble forced by Olugbode, Kenne, fumble by Darnold, Sam recovered by COLO Witherspoon, Ah at COLO1, touchback. )

One thing I'd like to see is letting Chido blitz some if they are gonna avoid him. He's good at that ****. Nothing too risky but could be a weapon for us.

He blitzes at least 6 times a game.
