A heartwarming story...

Me and my Chinese friend from the lab were having lunch today and we were talking about how different geographic regions grow different crops and how if affects the local culture. For example, in Northern China, they eat a lot of steamed bread because wheat grows well but in the south it's all about rice. I brought up that we have the same thing in the United States and it has an effect on our culture as well.

Me: "Just look at the university mascots in the 'heartland' of America. Nebraska for example..."

QZ: "What's the mascot of Nebraska?"

Me: "You should know this one..."

QZ: "The Dickheads?"

Me: [Uproarious laughter]

Apparently the Asians in my lab HAVE learned something from me...
