It is Colorado.

My friend who subscribes to a Gator site and they have some weekend round ups and tidbits in an article, usually just about the SEC, but they even took the time to call out Colorado.

Calling Colorado "the worst BCS conference team since the BCS was invented".

It is a premium article so no link but we sure are getting press now. :bang:

My friend also just texted me after I told him our President is standing by the coach...

His response: "That is solid leadership...."

I guess everyone in the country gets it except for the people living in Boulder. Sad.

I think it is safe to assume they are either not watching the games or don't care. I fear it may the latter.

Sure there are plenty of people that dont give a rats ass about CU football in Boulder. Seems like the admin either doesnt care or thinks they cant possibly be wrong, I say that from afar fwiw.

And Boulder will learn the hard way. 20k less fans will be at the games. Less people coming to the games means less people spending money at the bars and restaurants around Boulder. Which means less tax revenue. And it also means less money for the establishments and workers who now have less money to spend in other Boulder shops. Which means even less tax revenue.

This is why I argue that this weekend's game at Wash State is Embree's Must Win.

He simply cannot allow "Worst Team In College Football" articles, columns, tweets and newsclips to be running past every recruiting prospect he has. It's one thing to accept an offer from a bad team or a 'down' team... but it's a completely different issue to have good players accept offers from The Worst Team. Because all those players have pals and hangers-on, and all of them are going to roll their eyes and rib him about it. Even getting him to admit VISITING the Worst Team will be difficult.

I suspect recruits to The Worst Team are indeed accepting the Best Offer They Get. But that's a very relative and subjective term. God bless 'em, though.

Trickle down?

Must win?

That's setting the bar way to high and it's not going to happen. I'm not trying to be overly negative but expecting a win right now is nonsense.

"Must show he's capable of pulling the team out of the tailspin they are in" is more like it.

I know what ya mean. Yes, absolutely. But the argument remains: this really needs to be a Must-Win game. He's only 10 weeks (including a Bye) of nothing but more stompings, and more The Worst Team In Football press.

This is it. His must-win game. I don't see any other way around it.

But your simile is also my agreeable one, too.

I am not sure why they do not think it is worth the investment:

More wins and successful football team has already been proven to = more applications and more applications = more money

Successful Football team = more tickets sold and more sponsors and it = more money

Successful Football team = more exposure on TV and increases both of the above which = more money

More money = other sports paid for and = nice new academic buildings

What is so hard about getting behind this?

It's our most visible opportunity to demonstrate unity and excellence. It bonds us as alums and fans and bolsters our community. There are a lot of benefits to caring about (and resourcing) the product on the field.
