Nebraska.
Let that sink in Colorado fans...Nebraska is upon us. They visit Folsom for the first time since the 2009 season and our Buffs are looking to extend the winning streak. The mighty Buffaloes of Colorado (1-0) beat CSU last week 52-31 in a game that was closer than the final score would indicate.
This week we welcome ****braska and their meth smoking, corn gobbling, runza loving fat asses 45K strong. Nebraska (1-0 #25 AP) took on the mighty South Alabama Jaguars and leaned on defense to eventually put them away 35-21 in a game that seemed much closer than 14.
Colorado brings in an experienced QB in Montez, a future NFL WR in Laviska Shenault and a new found affinity to running the ball. Mel Tucker takes the helm in his first season, first home game and first game against the long time rival, Nebraska. Last week Fontenot showed in a big way and impressed his teammates. Montez on Alex Fontenot: "He is a very dynamic, very fast, very shifty and as you guys say on Friday, his balance is a little bit different. His balance, I think, is his best quality. And as a person, he is a funny dude. He is a little different but a good guy, humble."
The last time these teams met was in 2018 in Stinkoln, Nebraska. Our Buffaloes of Boulder behind a monster game from Laviska Shenault embarrassed the newly crowned savior ("Bitch boy", see Lawrence Phillips) Scott Frost. Colorado jumped out to a 14-0 lead and came from behind late with an outstanding TD grab by Viska to seal the win 33-28.
This was unfortunately also the day the FBI got involved by starting an investigation into "twist gate," which ultimately led to death threats to Jacob Callier on Twitter. Scott Frost said there was "an angle that didn't look very good" but he's a bitch so we all saw that coming.
It hasn't always been a happy rivalry:
The Nub faithful are tolerable when they win and vulgar when they lose. They generally cry about all the atrocities they have encountered in Boulder and how they have been treated.
Piss balloons to the face? **** yes!
Sorry Granny!
Your trailer was ****ty anyways...
But **** all that nonsense we all know the Buff faithful are saints...
But it all started back in the late 80's with a man named Mac and his coined phrase, "Better dead than red." From that day forward CU decided to stand up and tell the corn faithful to go **** themselves. It was largely successful when Colorado pulled out wins in 89 and 90 to the dismay of the cob gobblers. Nebraska got angry and beat the Buffs into submission for years straight by a matter of points.
Then came 2001...
Chris Brown slipped through wide open lanes early and often and punished the Huskers to a record 6 TD's
This is the state of Nebraska football today:
