Bruce Feldman from espn says miami to offer job to golden and that he will accept.
Kind of surprised that was the best they could do.
:noob:
Check the coaching carousel thread first my man.
Maybe he wanted to spread the word without getting caught up in the bitchiness.
Didnt want to get involved in a pissing match my fault
I don't get why he's all that underwhelming. What he has done at Temple is pretty incredible imo.
If Golden would have said no and waited for another year, he most likely would be doing incredible things at Penn State for double the money after Joe Pa finally retires
So that makes him an underwhelming hire for Miami? And there was no guarantee for that to happen, isn't there numerous people that can make a case to be the next in line for Joe Pa?
Yep, lots of guys in line for the PSU gig. Plus, there have been many a coach's career that has died on the vine waiting for Paterno to retire. No sense in doing that. Similar to how Muschamp gave up waiting for Mack.
Not exactly a prize replacing Paterno anyways. Win and Paterno gets the credit, lose and you get blamed big time.
Replacing legends is usually a bad deal, look how long it took in Alabama to finally accept someone after the Bear. Same at Michigan and Ohio State. As entrenched as Paterno is that job is a bad deal for whoever gets it.
I remember when they hired Jimmy Johnson from Okie State. Everyone said "Jimmy Who"?
