Top road wins

10. #14CU 43 #21Wisconsin 7 1995
After a coaching change and losing a lot of starters from a very good 1994 team, #14 Colorado goes into Madison where Koy Detmer lights up the #21 Badgers.

9. CU 16 #12Kansas St. 6 2001
A key win towards the Big 12 title. Buffs win against a K state team that had previously taken the Buffs place as conference contenders for a few years.

This would be the last win for a long time against the corn. Win put Buffs at 5-0 and on their way to a Big 8 title.

Buffs go down to the Bayou and win a big night game in season opener.

Buffs finally beat Oklahoma in a dominating defensive game, setting up a showdown with Nebraska for Big 8 crown.

I'd probably put Texas in 1994 on there.......and I might be a little biased because I was at that game. That final drive was something-Salaam had 61 of the 80-ish yards on the drive?

Gurode and Westbrooks are starters for any all time CU team. Westbrook would have been a star in the NFL as well if he hadn't of decided he liked to beat up his linebacker team mates so much. Also Carruth and Logan are worth of being on this list at WR. You always need a third WR, so perhaps Carruth could be one at the slot and you add Logan in ahead of Pritch and then Pritch plays the slot behind Carruth. Gurode and Naole are the two best guards in CU history, by a mile. Garten was nice, but there isn't any comparison. You left off a lot of great tackles as well....Where is Bakhtiari? Berti? Polumbus? I mean Montler was a nice guy, a good marine, a wonderful speaker and co-coach of my peewee football team, but he wasn't a great tackle...he did become a very good center though.

Bobby Anderson deserves a spot on this list. The guy was a dominant QB for 2 years, then switched to halfback and was a first team All-American his senior year. I don't know where you put him, but he needs to be recognized.

Not necessarily a road game, but the 1957 Orange Bowl was a comeback against Clemson for our first bowl win.

Charlie Johnson, NT on the 76-77 Orange Bowl team, deserves to be on your list. Was shutting down Ohio State by himself before he got his ankle rolled and knocked out of the game.

One more to consider for Safety - John "Bad Dude" Stearns

Oh, btw, he was also the punter.

Eschewed pro football in favor of pro baseball. Became the starting catcher for the Mets.

Some of these guys, I didn't see play. I know of them, maybe saw some clips, here and there. Hell of a list Leash.(y)

This thread has a lot of personal flavor and preferences, so to each their own. But I find a few things really interesting about your post, so wanted to respond. Gurode and Naeole were incredible, but I find it hard to say that they were better than a two time All-American (at least one of them consensus too) "by a mile." Also, Bakhtiari, Berti, and Polumbus were not that special in college - none of them were AA or ever close to that level. Pro-development is clearly not considered in Leash's teams. I'm too young to have seen Montler, but he also was an AA, so to say he wasn't great...I find that tough to accept.

And lastly, I know you're just talking on-field, but personally, I would rather that Carruth never be mentioned in a positive light when discussing CU. The guy is despicable and a dark stain to our program...**** that guy.
