I know it's been mentioned a lot, but that parking garage is pure genius. Lots of the folks who park in the Gold lot are not big tailgaters anyway. They just want a spot where they can get in and out in a hurry, and be close to the gate. The garage is perfect for those folks. The tailgating on what remains of Franklin Field will improve as a result, too.

The next thing they need to consider is allowing overnight campers on campus the day before games. Forget the 4-hour tailgate. I'm talking about a 24 hour tailgate. That's big time.

I like it, but the campus parking isn't friendly to big cars. I'm not sure where you would park them.

I just love the **** that people make up in their heads so that they can support an idea.

I HATE trying to get out of a parking garage after an event. However, I suspect they can hang out in a suite or on the party deck until the crowd dissipates, then take an elevator down to the car, which the chauffeur has warmed to a perfect 74.3 degrees, and head home to re-watch the game in their theater while partaking in a nice Merlot from the wine cellar.

Consider the source. Few Gold Lot tailgate festivities are advertised on a message board, open to all comers, include a raffle for seats to the game, and offer the occasional jambalaya breakfast burritos.

Are you saying I'm wrong?

believe it or not, at one time my family had a pass there. It always seemed to me that less than half the people there were actually tailgating. Many just came for the close-in lot.

I have seen the policy regarding no more than 4 hours prior, but I have also seen RVa parked out by the law building in Kittredge on Friday nights. Very confusing.

Perhaps things have changed I have a pass in there and it is among the first to start and only a small percentage who arrive quite late don't tailgate. I personally know a large number of people that will pool to get 1 gold lot spot and then all met up for the gaiter like yours. Typically those that dont get out of their car and walk to their buddies car who has a tailgate set up, the tailgate to car ratio is probably 400% high than it was in my old lots.

Some of us just travel to damn far to haul all the crap required to tailgate and having the kids it is sometimes better to just pack some sandwiches and a football to toss around, then just walk campus (the wife usually wants to go to the bookstore anyway) or hit the gathering in front of Benson. If we are lucky we end up by the B4L folks that we sit by and mooch off of them. Before the kids we used to set up the tent, table and grill. Now I would rather just play catch.

Merlot? It'll do, I guess, but give me a nice Australian Shiraz or Argentinian Malbec.

I'm sure the administration would love middle-aged tailgaiters, drinking from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon, right outside student residences. What's the worst that could happen??

SEC schools immediately come to mind, without trying to do dig through specific universities parking policies.

The lots by the law school could be open for overnight parking.
Franklin field could be open for overnight parking.

Really the only one you wouldn't want them to do that at is the lot around Farrand Field. Sorry Sacky.

wazzu had a farm of RVs right smack in the middle of campus on thursday afternoon.

They are kind of a special case IMO. There are few hotels in Pullman and they are in the middle of nowhere. If you want people to even make the effort to come to the game you better give them options.

Haha well true. However getting to Boulder is not the trek that it is to get to Pullman.

They could open the entire lot at the corner of Regent and Colorado to overnight users at 6pm Friday night.

I'm kicking around the idea of buying a travel trailer. I'd freaking LOVE to be able to park that bad boy on campus on a Friday night, set up a tailgate, and kick back for the evening. Most travel trailers are 30 feet or less. I think I can make that work at Farrand. The only problem would be all the students banging on the walls at 3:00 AM just to piss me off. :lol:

Mind you, this dream of mine is probably at least two years off. Nothing immediate.
