all that hate, over all those years, directed at the fuskers...

i admit, like ringo said, that this week's game doesn't have the same feel.

the hate kept me warm at night.

the hate sustained me, through bad seasons. we always had this one game. this one game to get it.

and, the Buffs rarely failed to show up for this one. no matter what the record or the circumstance. CU came to play. every game. even the hawkins teams generally brought it--- ryan miller played his best game as a Buff against nebraska, fighting suh to a standstill.

maybe someday i will hate utah like that. but, i doubt it. the hate has so many branches and it runs so deep. the "sal is dead" signs... the absolutely indefensible voting in 90... there are so many reasons i hate the fuskers.

i am very glad we moved to the p12. and, a part of me is glad for the fuskers; that they were able to upgrade their circumstances as well. CU/nu was a great rivalry and i will miss it. if it were up to me, i'd drop csu and add the fuskers as an annual ooc game, played this week. but, i know the fuskers don't have the stones to schedule like that.

so, we move on.

but, for old time's sake, i'll close with this:

DIE FUSKER DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

**** the bug eaters ! I always hope they lose every game - I was going to root for them against psu / I could not even do that.... choke on a turkey bone nu

Go Black and Gold!

Agree - nothing can possibly replace the hatred I felt (and feel) towards the total arrogance of fusker fans, the gun hiding, weasel gangster Dr. Tom, Lawrence Phillips, etc. etc. I guess I can start hating that guy posting the welcome to SLC version of War and Peace - nah, not the same.

Why do you eat bugs?

Why do you eat bugs?

it has been said that they eat bugs while having sex with their women folk and their barnyard animals. the taste of bug in their mouths helps to mask the smell of their womenfolk and barnyard animals. additionally, it allows them to explain the look of horror on their faces while they are servicing their women and barnyard animals. so, it has been said.

Is that a quote from Children of the Corn?

How long did you live in Nebraska???

I agree with everything liver said except for the idea of dropping CSU and adding NU. Drop CSU - fine. Add the fuskers? Not on your life. I could go the rest of my life without seeing a red and white polyester overalls clad dip**** from Kearney infesting my beloved Folsom Field.

How long did you live in Nebraska???

thankfully, never. word has been passed along, among the wisemen and travellers of this country. ... when in fuskerland, chew bugs at the same time you **** their women/barnyard animals if you want to get through it without retching.

I wish we didn't play the Nubs over Thansgiving break. We wouldn't have had to have seen that much red in Folsom.

I miss the series against the Corn. Their fans are some of the most worthless pieces of **** to ever watch the game of football, but for better or worse it was our one rivalry game. Most importantly, as mentioned, you knew the Buffs were going to bring it. I fell in love with CU football in large part because of the great games against Nebraska as it was one of the few Buff games we'd get in Virginia back then. Those brutally close losses from '96-00 were hard to take, but 2001 obviously made up for it. Huskers will make their excuses and deny it, but we all know that Nebraska football has never been the same since 11/23/2001. 2002 and 2004 were fun too, wins in Lincoln are always something to be cherished. The Buff OL completely manhandled the Huskers in Lincoln that day. It was great to put up 65 on them in 2007, definitely never thought I'd see the day where the Buffs managed to score even MORE than 62 on the Fuskers. 2008 was an absolute heartbreaker, but it was the last road game where the Buffs really came to play. Despite not being very good, they played like a team that ****ing hated Nebraska and was desperate to get the W in order to make a bowl game. That 58yd field goal just about killed me. Wish we'd been able to give them a better game last year under Cabral, but the Buffs were simply mentally exhausted by that point.

I know it isn't realistic, but Nebraska is the one old conference opponent of ours that I'd like to see us face off against in the future. It just obviously worth dealing with their bull**** demands of a 2-for-1 or a Lincoln/Invesco series. However, if they shockingly showed that they have some guts and we were to do a home/home, I'd be in favor. We'll meet the Huskers in some bowl games in upcoming years, it's an appealing match up for bowls with PAC/B1G tie-ins, and yes a CU/Nubs Rose Bowl will occur at some point. It's just meant to happen to settle the score once and for all.

Bull ****!

No way you have been spending time scanning the husker boards.

Sentiment is correct, though.

I'll call your Bull****! and raise you one!

Actually there hasn't been much talk of the Colorado game as of late on any of the Husker boards from what I can see. And I pretty much read them all. I have seen a thread here and there, but it is short lived.

There isn't much "Hate" for the Buffs from Husker fans either. They have put the annual day after Thanksgiving game with the Buffs behind them a long time ago.

Seems to me the self imposed divorce between the two programs is having stronger aftereffects with CU fans than Husker fans.

Husker withdrawl is a Bitch!

Well, you guys are a lot easier to hate, so I could see why it would last longer from our perspective. Also, with husker fans crawling all over our boards, who can really forget?

I met another husker fan out here the other day (one of two husker fans here that played TE at Air Force, oddly). It literally took him less than three minutes to tell me that husker fans are the greatest in College Football.

When I mentioned that we have a joke among CU fans regarding how long it takes a nebraska fan to tell us how great they are, and they don't understand how annoying that might sound when talking to a fan from another team, he got a little sullen. So I told him to cheer up...while three minutes was by no means a record, it was a hell of an effort. We don't speak anymore.

And while we're on the topic. I was watching the CU USC game on the bigscreen in the DFAC a few weeks ago and some Air Force doosh (who I didn't even know) comes in and says, "CU sucks"...while I'm watching the ****ing game! So I said, "Well, we have a new coaching staff, and we've had a ton of injuries, especially in our secondary. There are probably only four or five teams in the nation with enough depth to consistently win after the hits we've taken to our secondary".

The dude (Major, by the way, so junior to me) said, "those are just excuses." So I lost my ****. I had gotten up at four in the morning, on a Friday, to watch this game, and some dickface (UCLA grad, it turned out) is talking **** for no purpose other than to be an ass.

So I said, "I'm armed, so we're not going to fight here, but if we were in a bar I'd kick your ****ing ass into your ****ing skull. Now get the **** away from me before I reconsider." I was beyond pissed. Who heckles a fan when their team is losing, when they don't have a dog in the fight?

So I see this asshole everywhere now (it's a pretty small compound. I just stare him down and he gets out of my way. He tried saying, "Good morning, Sir" the other day but I told him to "**** off." I'm not backing down. **** him.

Gee, Wally, I have no idea why your wife would think you're not making many friends over there.:lol:

You and that guy are gonna end up banging [each other].

By and large, Husker Nation has moved on.

The untold part of this story, though, are those Fusker-qeda factions that still reside on the front range. These are the bozos who pepper the daily camera comment section with huskerphelia. Herbie worshippers in the Denver might still want to beat their corncobs in front of their Buff colleagues at the office, but without the series, the sentiment rings hollow. There's no friendly wager to be made with that Buff fan in the cubicle next door nor Monday after thanksgiving gloating around the water cooler.

The B1G has stripped the Coloradoans for Nebraska asswipes of their most cherished game of the year. That trip up and down I76/i80 is stripped of bragging rights for this faction. The rug has been yanked from under their feet.
