That assumes that Bzzzzz would have taken us as far as Tad has, which I think is a stretch.

i doubt Jeff would have turned the team over to AB, allowed Levi to find his niche from the arc and/or putting the ball on the floor, and we'd not have finished in the top 15 in scoring O with almost 80 a game. i suppose Roberson was too good to keep off the floor, but you wonder how Bz would have used him. which is an indirect way to point to our improved rebounding this year.
we won a lot of games with tempo and the break....would not have seen that with JB.

My understanding was the dre was Boyle's guy, all the way. Where'd you get info? (curious, not bashing)
As I remember it, Abatamarco found Roberson while Bzdelik was still here, and when Boyle said we needed a rebounder, Tom brought Roberson to him. Can't find a source, so if I could be wrong. I think they were talking about this during one the Big XII games on TV.
My recollection is that the assistant from aTm was the primary recruiter on Dre and had seen him more than hold his own in AAU versus some of the top B12 South prospects. Abatemarco was focused on the east coast recruits we were after. fwiw, the AllBuffs profile on Dre wasn't created until April 27th of las year. Bz was hired at WF just before mid-April.

It was Abatemarco who found/recruited Roberson. I dont know if it happened when Boyle or Bzdelik was the coach but either way Bzdelik hired the guy so he should get the credit.
Edit: I just rememberd reading an article in the denverpost in the past couple of days that said that CU began recruting Roberson when Bz was still the coach.

Ya, it was the Paige article. I dont know why you dont trust Woody. He has tons of connections and sources and has been in the buisness forever. Plus integrity is the first rule of journalism. Either way it was Abatemarco who "found" Roberson and since he was hired befoe Boyle it would seem likely that Roberson was originally a Bz recruit.

Roberson's AAU trip to Boulder was on April 18th. Bzdelik to Wake Forest was reported on April 13th (presser the next day). Woody is right that Roberson "was being courted to CU before Boyle joined the Buffs", but it was after Bzdelik had left. It was 2 days before Boyle was hired (April 20th) and, as I referenced in the other article, Roberson had met with Boyle first. There is no indication that Bzdelik ever talked to Roberson. All we have is Abatemarco telling Roberson that he didn't know who the CU coach would be since our HC during the initial visit was McClain on an interim basis. Roberson then made his official visit to CU on April 27th (after Boyle was the HC) and signed with Boyle on May 3rd.
You really have to be ignorant (i.e. Woody) or willfully trying to belittle Boyle if you stick with the opinion that Roberson was a Bzdelik recruit.
