Why not? The agent doesn't cost him anything unless he helps get him a contract.
Aric has a good leg. His problem is that Hawkins screwed his head up so bad that he doesn't know which side of the goal post to aim at. I would put Aric's chances of kicking in the NFL at about the same chance of me winning the Lotto this week if I were to buy a ticket but who knows.
Until he got his head thouroughly screwed up he was very accurate from inside of 40. It wouldn't surprise me to see him end up kicking in the Arena league or even Canada. From there, with a little decent coaching he may get a shot at the NFL. It is all a longshot but if an agent came to me and said sign on the dotted line and I will see what I can do I wouldn't hesitate to give it a shot.
:sad1: Come on guys. Once a buff always a buff. Goodman probably took years off my life but he was still a buff. - signed Bernard Jackson

I have never seen anybody ding the uprights with the uncanny consistency Goodman exhibited.
With some real special teams coaching, not clinicing, he may be something. He has a strong leg and scouts see that, teams will ask coaches if we bring him in as an undrafted free agent can you work with him or kick off specialist.
I hate what Hawkins did to us, but this is the biggest bunch of horse **** I have read on here in a long time. Hawkins screwed over Goodman?
How? By granting him a scholarship for making a chip shot FG against West Virginia? By giving him opportunity after opportunity to try and prove himself while the rest of the team suffered? If anything, Goodman was given too many chances. How is that "screwing with his head"? The kid is simply not a very good FG kicker and thought he was a lot better than he really was.
I'm not saying that he is or ever would be the second coming of Mason Crosby but he has the physical ability to be a pro kicker somewhere. The issue is his head and that is what Hawkins made sure to screw up.
He started out as a very accurate kicker from 40 in, his problems came from outside of 40. Hawkins, knowing that he had missed some kicks kept sending him out for long, low percentage kicks and at the same time passed on a number of short, high percentage kicks that would have helped him get his confidence. He also played stupid headgames with the "you are my kicker, no you're not, get in there and hit a 54 yarder." stuff. There is also some evidence that the special teams coach had Aric and the other kickers kicking to much and the wrong kind of kicks in practice, that ST coach, Dan Hawkins.
I can understand your anger, I got upset watching us lose a bunch of games that we should have won as well and Aric didn't help things. At the same time it wasn't for lack of effort on his part and he certainly didn't hit those uprights on purpose.
I doubt he makes it as a pro but I wouldn't deny him the chance, if he does it is just proof of what we already know, that Hawkins completely burned this program to the ground, to paraphrase the man himself.
Goodman's issue was never about whether he had good technique or kicked a beautiful ball. He did. His problem is that he's not clutch. That's an issue he had at Wyoming prior to coming to CU. Hell, even the game winning kick against WVU that earned him a scholarship was a short kick that he chunked and was lucky to make.

i think its funny for the simple fact aric goodman might be the cockiest, ****tiest human being i have ever been unfortunate enough to run into in real life.
Seriously? You acknowledge his issues outside 40 yards and still think he has a shot at the NFL? Not to mention, his freshman and sophomore years, he was not as automatic from inside as 40 as you portray.
To blame Dan Hawkins for the failures of Aric Goodman and include stuff like "it wasn't for lack of effort" is ridiculous. Is this big-time college football or not? Do results only matter for the head coach and no else on the team? And again, Goodman himself made FG kicking an issue, but you seem to think Dan Hawkins was playing head games with him. I'm guessing I can go back and read your posts at the time and you were singing a different tune. Keep thinking it was all Dan Hawkins that made Aric Goodman a headcase and that Dan Hawkins is the singular reason we have lost so many games the last five years.
That's crazy talk.
were you with darragh that one night? i heard about the **** he pulled. Not only was she a girl but she sucked... oh wait wrong kicker.
But it still applies, I'm all for the once a buff always a buff thing but Goodman had to be the exception, he was a COMPLETE and TOTAL douche bag off the field and in no way represented what the Black and Gold stands for.
picked fights with random people for no reason and expected the o line to clean up his scraps. What made him such a douche off the field? I never met the guy, and I'm not sure I would know him if I ran into him. What gives?
