Assess the West: Pac-12 OOC Analysis (ESPN)

I did some research into Wofford and Dayton today. Wofford doesn't scare me, they lost two Seniors who played 95.1 and 94.2 of the minutes available. 3rd and 8th respectively in all of DI. And they lost another guy who had an ORtg of 123.1. So in a nutshell they lost 2 guys who played all the time and another who didn't do anything dumb on offense, ever.

Dayton on the other hand may keep me up nights, they are rediculously efficient on offense, rebound the ball on offense very well, shoot FT's great. They lose 3 solid SR's, but return some JR's with a lot of playing experience. Playing a team early in the season that is this experienced, that is this efficient on offense that shoots FT's as well as they do has problems all over it. If this was a home game I would still be worried, but playing on the East Coast at 10:30 AM ET (8:30 AM MT) with at least 4 freshman expected to contribute on their first road trip? Yeah that scares me......

Agreed with all of this except for the game time. It's 10:30 am MT - 12:30 pm Eastern.

Good catch, I read 10:30 start time and just figured that was local.

More disturbing things I read last night: Their two most experienced guys are the two 6-9 forwards, they are big, not every athletic but I can't help but think Stanford. They have two transfers expected to start, one from Georgetown and another from LSU. Derenbecker from LSU had a nice Freshman year before transferring while Sanford didn't do much at GTown.

They are also coached by Archie Miller, I have a feeling that he may give his brother Sean a call for a little detailed scouting report on a team he played three times last year.

So we should expect them to burn through timeouts like found money, leaving them with a Chinese Fire-Drill as time expires?

Dayton worries me a ton. Frankly it has all the makings of a situation in which we usually lose. We got the worst possible lineup in Charleston, to be honest.

Wofford is no complete pushover for our first game, even with their losses.

Those MWC road games, Wyoming and Fresno, are worrying as well. A Pac team playing on the road in a MWC gym is always dangerous territory.

Maybe I'm crazy but im excited to be underdogs going into Kansas.... I think this team could do something special

Completely agree with Dayton Conerns. Wofford scares me too, because I sense fear from Tad on it. He seems a a bit extra over concerned about filling the place up for the 5pm tipoff. Its like he knows something he's not telling us.

But the most concerning game of all is CSU. The stakes are so high on that one, it makes me nervous. Because, if they lose, my life will be dark tunnel of depression and gloom for 6 months. The thought of losing to those f#%*s keeps me up at night. I really, really, really, really want to win that game.
