"We practice stabbing the ball, scooping it high and tight, running and scoring. That was our drills right there."
They practice HOW to scoop and HOW to tuck and carry. And then in the lines above this:
"We knew that their running backs like to carry the ball loose, so coming into this game I felt like I was going to have some opportunities," Uzo-Diribe said. "He dunked it to the running back, he didn't see from behind, so I just went for it.
They saw it on film
The second thing, regarding some of negative tallies on the board from the game, making the three to five point list of negatives and weighing equally to three to five point positives is absurd. To watch that game and not come away with nothing but awe over the turnaround in play boggles my mind. We haven't looked like that in a decade. Crisp. Sustained drives. Awareness focus. Calmness. I can't sit here this morning and read little lists of mistakes. That's like saying the take a way from mickelson's opening round on Friday was nothing to get too excited about because he bogeyed 18. We won one game last year. One game. That win was an absurd come back. Last night we took Victory formation for god's sake. I can't tell you the last time we took a two score lead knee. With what we've been watching and listening to for the last five plus years, compared to how we executed last night.... Staggering. But, yeah, let's list the mistakes.
