Per Ringo in his new article. No written deails yet. Dig that floor out, drop the court, rip out the bathrooms, completely redo seating. Easy peezy.

HOWEVER, in the PDF of the improvements (http://www.cubuffs.com//pdf8/1443386.pdf)

last page, you see HUGE improvements to the Keg:

1. Indoor bathrooms gone
2. New premium seating (including in the center of the court) - box seats going in?
3. Large Expanded Concourse with:

  • New Coaches Offices
  • Hall of Fame
4. New Court sports training facility - looks to be big enough for 1 or 2 courts.
From PDF:
  • Volleyball locker room
  • Relocated visiting team locker room
  • New weight room
  • New officials locker room
  • Additional loading dock
  • Premium seat opportunities
  • Expanded concourse with increased fan amenities

Paint a person in every seat so even when some people show up late or go to the bathroom or go get a drink, it still looks like they're in their seat!
 
They're finally going to ban bcs from sitting in the student section? :wink2:

One thing that would quickly improve things would be to paint the ceiling black instead of its current gray. In other arenas where this was done it really focused things onto the court and made for a much cooler game atmosphere.

(Tip of the hat to Rugged on this. However, that's as far as they should listen to him. His least controversial idea after this is a ritual sacrifice at center court prior to tip off.)
 
^^ My suggestion included seats as well. Put Make them all black and the walkways/stairs. Then aim the lights more on the court and less everywhere else.
 
added a bunch of details from the PDF - no beer garden. No courtside changes. Lots of facelift style stuff though.
 
Bummer the indoor bathrooms are gone. The lines for the outhouse are gonna be crazy.

Also, as much as I want to see Tad Boyle get a big raise in salary (and Linda Lappe also get a significant bump), this type of announcement is much more meaningful to them. For both of them, their first priority is to have what they need to win championships.

Not to be left out is Liz Kritza and our Volleyball program. They're on the rise and look like they will break through next year. This will allow them to keep pulling in Top 25 recruiting classes that can compete in the Pac-12.

tap the breaks - this isn't even included in the 170$ million project... who knows how this will happen.
 
I would hope all bleachers will be gone if this ever happens. The original plans were that the bleacher seats would be replaced with chair backs when they raised more funds. Still hasn't happened.

Did I see correctly that where the student section is located would become premium seating? I don't think that is a good idea. The C Unit needs to be on top of the court.

Personally, I'm not fond of premium seating if it means boxes. The people that I see in various venues in boxes have no interest in the event they are attending. All it adds is revenue, but not fans.

Other side of the court from the students, where they currently have the GA seats.
 
You can't see our section from tv. We need them to be court side. Like duke or florida.

We should be around the court like MSU's last night with the center being around the visitors bench
 
I would support the students wrapping the gym in the first 10 or 12 rows. If they add club boxes, then everyone is taken care of. The folks that want to have a premium seat in a quieter environment can get club seats up top. And those of us who want good seats but like it a bit rowdy can be in those 10 rows behind the students. Would be a lot of fun and a bitch for visiting teams. I think it would separate us in the conference.

Yup. What better brand building than highlighting the students on tv, jumping up and down, yelling. Creates a big-time competitive advantage for Tad.
 
Actually I now don't want students in the first 20 rows unless the reconfigure the keg. The students will stand the whole game which will cause everyone behind them to stand as well. It looks like there is a concourse between the students and other seating in all the photos above.
