Basketball Team and the Fight song

Two weeks ago, XJ was on the radio. He told 1043 that he didn't know the fight song.

According to Tad Boyle, he just may know it now.

Apparently, at some point this season, Beau Gamble, walk on fireplug extraordinaire, has started the tradition of the basketball team singing the fight song in the locker room after wins. That's pretty cool. Nothing as good as the fight song after a nice win.

They need to sell Beau Gamble jerseys. That kid is awesome. You talk about someone who bleeds black & gold and does whatever he can to help the team, and that's Beau.

do they change the word "field" to "court?"

They should change it to court for basketball. Simple change and it makes so much more sense.

we've put out questions to the relevant people. We will see if we get an answer.

The Beau has spoken: They sing the old fashioned fight song, or, as he put it:
just the good ole original tune

Regardless of how you sing it, it was awesome to hear it being sung live on TV from Maple Arena @ Stanford. The growing number of Buff fans on the road is kick ass.

Agreed. During one timeout it was spectacularly loud. Kept it up throughout the game.

Sooo, in Tad's 3rd year, the basketball team finally embraces CU's fight song. That's pretty sad actually.

We would be a force if we played tourney games in San Jose (or SLC)

Well, for most of the program's existence it was actively treated as a second class citizen by the athletic department. Since "Fight CU" was originally written for just the football team, I'm not surprised that it was just never a part of the program's culture. Glad that it's changing, though.

The fight song "Go Colorado" is actually the athletics fight song. "Fight CU" has long been for the football team. I am glad its starting to change though. About time.

I think if Tad had his druthers, it'd would be fight CU down the court because you know Tad doesn't stand for lolly gagging on defense.

Should probably change the line to "Fight CU on the court". Doesn't make much sense to fight down the court. But fight CU on the court just doesn't feel right either but it makes more sense.

I don't think I ever met anyone who wasn't a Band member that knows the words to Go Colorado.
