Welcome to the AllBuffs Pac-12 Poll. We have gathered twelve voters to make their Pac-12 predictions for this season. Those voters are:

While there were a few surprises, the big awards shouldn’t shock anyone. With that, here are the results (asterisks mean the team is in the NCAA Tournament, number in parenthesis is number of first place votes).

1.) Arizona* (10)
2.) Oregon* (1)
3.) Colorado* (1)
4.) UCLA*
5.) Cal*
6.) Stanford*
7.) Arizona State
8.) Washington
9.) Utah
10.) Oregon State
11.) USC
12.) Washington State

Pac-12 Player of the Year

The runaway winner of Pac-12 player of the year is Jahii Carson of Arizona State. Carson got 7 of the 12 possible votes with Spencer Dinwiddie of Colorado getting four and Dwight Powell of Stanford getting one.

Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year

Another runaway as Aaron Gordon of Arizona got 8 of the 12 possible votes for this title. Also receiving votes are Jabari Bird of Cal (who had 3) and Mike Moser of Oregon (1).

All-Pac-12 Team (Number of Votes)

* Jordan Adams, UCLA (6)
* Jahii Carson, Arizona State (12)
* Spencer Dinwiddie, Colorado (12)
* Aaron Gordon, Arizona (7)
* Dwight Powell, Stanford (7)

Also receiving votes: Kyle Anderson, UCLA (4); Mike Moser, Oregon (4); CJ Wilcox, Washington (3); Dominic Artis, Oregon (1); Jordan Bachynski, Arizona State (1); Justin Cobbs, California (1); Roberto Nelson, Oregon State (1); Travis Wear, UCLA (1).

Gordon got 8 votes for P12 POY, but only 7 votes for All-Conference? :wow:

8 votes for newcomer of the year, not player of the year.

Reading comprehension would be my friend. Especially since I was one of your contributors. :lol:

On another note, some of you guys just can't help yourselves with picking Furd. I thought they had the best starting 5 in the Pac-12 for the past 2 years and they didn't Dance. I don't care who is on their roster. I wasn't picking them for the tourney this season.

On that comment, a few random notes I have from the polling:

* The most consistent teams? Arizona, Washington & Washington State. All had ten votes for their respective spots. Arizona got two second place votes, Washington got two seventh place votes and Wazzu got two 11th place votes.
* The most bi-polar teams? Oregon & Furd. Oregon was anywhere from first to fifth. Stanford was fourth to eighth.
* The Buffs were pretty consistent. One first place vote, two fourth place votes. Everyone else was 2 & 3.
* Closest race? The battle for second place. Oregon BARELY eeked out a spot over CU by one point.
* Everyone had Oregon State, Utah, USC and Wazzu in their bottom four in some order.

I think there is almost zero chance Aaron Gordon makes a five man first team. He's terrific and going to be great for Arizona, but he's not going to have the numbers some other guys might have on some very good teams. That said, the Pac-12 runs a 10-man first team so anything is possible.

At some point they have to put it together, right? I've fallen for the trap before, and I'll fall for it again.

I had to put them in the 7 spot before I put anyone else down just to resist the temptation to overseed them again.

Well, we were too optimistic about Oregon (although, right now, you could argue they are the second best team in the league) and too down on ASU, but honestly, this didn't turn out too badly.

I always like looking back at these things, usually for a good laugh. In this case though, you guys as a collective group were as spot on as you could get.

You think I would have bumped it if we looked stupid?

We significantly under-valued Nick Johnson and Kyle Anderson.
