It should come as no surprise, after the realignment chaos of the past 2 years that the BCS will consider some major shake-ups in the next cycle:
Sources: BCS proposes radical changes
Now that would certainly get congress off their backs!
A return to tradition bowl games with the addition of a title bowl game could be the simplest way out of the current dilemma for the BCS.
But the heat they will face in the selection process will be even more magnified if the #3 team narrowly misses out on a BCS title game spot and instead has to play in the Libery Bowl, or the Car Care Bowl.
Anyway, this will be real interesting to watch, and I wonder if the timing of this "leak" has anything to do with Boise, BYU, and AFA considering a Big East invite?
Sources: BCS proposes radical changes
According to sources with direct knowledge of meetings held in San Francisco earlier this week, the suggested change calls for the BCS to sever its direct ties with the so-called BCS bowls -- the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, Discover Orange Bowl and Rose Bowl Game presented by Vizio -- and concentrate solely on arranging a No. 1 vs. No. 2 national championship matchup.
