Observation from the last few games:

Talent wise, Dinwiddie is without question the Buff's best player...but what is with the lack of aggressiveness inside the arc? Is this coached? I like his decision making from 3, but nearly every time he drives the lane or is in a 1-on-1 he plays for the foul. It cost us the game at utah (not saying it's his fault as there was a huge hole to overcome) and continues to keep things close in games where we look like the better team from tip to buzzer.

If we can somehow balance the out of control aggressiveness of ski with the foul anticipation of Dinwiddie, this team will be a force and be able to compete with the top 10 talent.

On the positive side...Xavier Johnson looks good, take away the occasional rookie mistake and he's a big time player.

One of the biggest things Tad can work on is to coach the jump stop. Kids aren't taught it at the prep level any more and it shows when you see some of the issues we've had with charges or getting too deep while off balance, unable to explode, and getting the shot blocked. Some college teams are good at the jump stop and some aren't. We aren't.

Dittoes on XJ. Think Dinwiddie is still getting used to playing pure point in college. Last year he was often the "2' to Tomlinson's "1" and now that he's "the guy" I believe he's thinking more, instead of just bringing his game every night.

If Talton and Stalzer continue to improve, next year Spencer could find himself back at "2", even "3" in certain match-up situations, more often. He still needs some more weight and muscle, as well.

Agreed, but I also think there are too many expectations that foul is going to come. In the college game, the offensive player needs to look bucket first and foul second while avoiding the offensive foul themselves. Then, if you get the foul its a bonus and if not at least you give your team the chance to put points on the board and keep the pressure on the opposing team. That is why the college game is better than the watered dowm product that the NBA provides, defense can actually be physical in college.

Might be time to start pairing him with Eli or XT a little bit.
yup. cause when ski does it, he usually just starts shooting. outside of that Utah run anyways.

Actually, I think the reason for that is that Ski doesn't trust anyone else to handle the defensive duties of organizing everyone if he is playing the 1 and driving instead of getting back - Tad puts a lot of responsibility on that position. I don't know that for sure, but it would make sense based on what I've seen.

XT had a nice game last night, would be nice to see a lineup with:

XT at the 1
Ski at the 2
Dinwiddie 3
XJ at the 4
and JS at the 5

Be tough to stop in this configuration with subs available at each spot if needed

And Dre on the bench! Brilliant!!!
