Beer Returns to Folsom????

I'm glad the issue is at least getting some play. I've long since aired my grievances with Mike Bohn and Hank Brown (among others). I wouldn't care if they shut down the suites and club seats, either.

What's good for the goose...

Ack! I hope not! I pretty much paid for my tickets every week by smuggling beer and overcharging the n00b freshmen crowd at the game.

Doesn't affect me either way. I will drink plenty for much cheaper before the game and if I want more during the game I will bring a flask.

If they turned off the flow of booze to the club seats and the suites, you'd see a big stink being raised. Until it affects the fat cats, this issue is going to remain as is.

So apparently, 'Rino, the solution to your problem is to become a fat cat...

There is no way this is going to happen. If I'm not mistaken there are fewer and fewer college stadiums selling beer, and the Events Center stopped selling beer this year too, unless I'm mistaken. I don't think any big 12 facilities sell beer. And with our (undeserved, in my opinion) rep for being rowdy thugs, there is no way we take the PR hit around the conference to sell beer.

For the record, though, I think they should sell beer.Prohibition doesn't work, it just punishes the responsible. Maybe beer sales would finance a move to the Pac 10? Then we wouldn't have to listen to what a bunch a morons from Kansas and Nebraska think about how "classless" we are.

it might help keep kids from getting ridiculously drunk before the games, and keep them in the seats during half, when many go to drink more and never return.

Guilty, but I usually make it back sometime.

Agreed, maybe they will even be there for kickoff rather than trying to get as drunk as possible. What a novel concept to come in early and be able to grab a beer.

Drunk as possible, but made kickoff most of the time.

I don't know the numbers, but it seems to me that selling beer would bring in quite a bit of revenue. Sure there are pitfalls and negatives to selling it, but IMHO the positives outweigh the negatives in this case.

That right there is exactly why they need to bring beer sales back. Banning beer sales has done *exactly* nothing to curb alcohol consumption. Zero. Nada. Zilch. So what's the point?

Man, when I was a student a few years ago, there were many days I ended up drinking myself into such a stupor that I sometimes never made it to the games. It was mainly because I was panicked that I wouldn't be 'drunk enough' to withstand the full game.

It was stupid, but the truth. I wouldn't have had that problem if beer was at the game

Unfortunately, since the drinking age is 21, most of the students would still drink before the game and sneak flasks in. Of course, the drinking age should be 18, and then the binge drinking problem would gradually go away, but that would make sense. DA*N YOU ELIZABETH DOLE!!

I went to school when they did have beer and it didn't make that big of a difference. I always stood around the keg before the game until after kickoff because I didn't have enough money to actually buy beer at the game. Now for big games it was different...I just started at 6am to make sure I had plenty of time to get in game shape and get tot he game early.

Getting into that stupor is just something that a lot of us did in college.

Yeah, a lot of getting there on time depends on the opponent. I am pretty sure I made kickoff for every game except Miami (OH) and Missouri. I wanted to make the Missouri one in time but I had a feeling I needed to be much drunker..I was right.

It actually has increased my hard alcohol consumption at games. Shooters, flasks, etc.

Exactly. That's why I think they should dry out the suites and club seats. Then we'd get a resolution (and beer back for everyone) shortly. There is absolutely no reason those in the suites and club seats should be able to have a beer while I cannot in the same stadium.

Exactly. Me and my 66 year old dad still sneak flasks into games. I would happily buy a beer or two if they were available.

Getting drunk for games is balls (CSU game the exception), stopped doing that after freshman year. I still drink before the game regardless of start, but being **** ass drunk and weltering in the sun from dehydration isn't that fun.
