if it happens, i wish the best to the kid. don't know anything about the situ. CU is a fine school and a great place to be as a young person...and get a scholly education. Boulder, Colorado always draws a smile from strangers when i mention it as where i live. but, it's clear: playing time is going to be some fierce competition in the seasons to come.

my dad skipped a country-boy from the provinces type academic scholly at Dartmouth to try and play college hoops (almost, but not quite a D-1 player inna day)....he done good for himself at CU law, but i know he thinks about it sometimes. it was kinda dumb decision, really.

Mark Miller is very dialed in to all things Wisconsin basketball, especially high school and recruiting. You can be sure that he knows Ben's family.

I don't doubt you, but he completely 180'd on this today.

Jeff Goodman just confirmed to Jimmy (from Buff Chips Radio) on twitter that Mills is transferring and that he has a source.

I didn't see that he had flipped on his initial report until just now. I'll ask around on some Wisconsin boards if anyone knows. Miller reads and posts on one of them.

Sounds like Miller just reported what Goodman had reported initially than probably looked into it himself and now says he is staying.

I wonder if Mills could follow Greg Graham to Bradley. Mills committed to Graham at Boise State and then was back on the market after Graham was fired. That's how we landed him. Graham is now an assistant at Bradley.

Mills has some offensive game, he just won't ever be able to play Boyle's defense unless he gains 25 pounds (at least.) A team that plays a zone could use him back there blocking shots and grabbing boards. He just can't bang with the big bodies.

(Yes, I know this is premature speculation.)

No because my first scoop was right but this one is wrong. I don't see Sharpe staying.

since CU is on spring break, I think that they would go home, discuss w/ friends and family, make a decision and then inform the coaches after they get back from break... just a thought

agreed... he would be a real positive addition to any mid major D1 program, especially after spending 2 years defending the likes of burks, higgins, knutson, brown, roberson, dinwiddie, dufault.... and you get my drift....

Very possible. Also very likely that Mills had just made up his mind in the last couple of days.

Thorburn wrote an article on this today.

Mills definitely sounds like a guy coming back.

Mills, a 7-foot sophomore center, is listed on the growing 2012 transfer list compiled by cbssports.com national college basketball writer Jeff Goodman.
"Not true at all," Mills said. "I'm not transferring."

"I'm still loving it," Mills said of the CU experience. "I just want to get bigger and stronger and continue to contribute for next year."
Mills said he would be open to a redshirt season if the coaches felt that it would help his development.

Sharpe's comments don't sound so solid on him coming back.

"As of now, I am coming back," Sharpe said.

Cool, I'm rooting for him! Big Ben Mills! Start working out with our football s&c coach, eat nothing but horse meat, rice and protein shakes, and boom! Comeback player of the year.

Lulz. You have to have been there to come back.
