legends division- iowa,michigan,michigan state,minnesota,nebraska,northwestern

Leaders division-Illinois,indiana,ohio state,penn state,purdue,wisconsin

Very different way to go about things.

That's what you get when the geography of your divisional make-up is akin to a 3-year old doing connect-the-dots with a crayon.

Leaders and Legends????? Really????? Those are like conference room names at the local Holiday Inn.

Are the still calling it the Big Ten?

Yep.

"Illinois, indiana, ohio state, penn state, purdue, wisconsin are leaders in their division."

It would have been the Con-Agra/John Deere division and the Monsanto/Archer Daniels Midland division, if the decision were left to me.

This ranks up there with the "Let's Go Rammin'" promotion on the Ghey Meter. Did they hire the same consultants?

The ACC probably loves it because now they're not the only conference out there with ridiculous division names.

Jesse Palmer on ESPN suggested 'Lakes' and 'Plains'. They may not be the best names, but they are 1000x better than 'Legends' and 'Leaders'; 'Lakes' and 'Plains' is at least reflective of Big Ten country.
