They really pulled off a great experience. There must have been a lot of phone calls made to get the stadium club reserved, all the food prepared & delivered, etc. Everything about the experience in Albuquerque was first class. Really, really well done. We like to bitch about the stuff they can't quite get right, but they deserve a lot of recognition when they nail it. They absolutely nailed this.
One of the things I really appreciated about the pre-game mixer was the fact that there were a bunch of students there, along with a bunch of recent alumni (think: Rugged, Snow, etc.) and a bunch of not-so-recent alumni (like myself) and a good group of major donors - all mixing and rubbing elbows with each other. I think this is a great way for current students to learn the benefits of remaining in contact with the University after their days as students are over.
I probably sound like a broken record, but I can't say enough how impressed I was. This is how it's done.
