Now I don't see us expanding anytime in the foreseeable future. A lot of what we can do through collaborating with the Big Ten will help us accomplish some of the same things."

Indeed, this is a great pairing. I love the way they approached it, going for the benefits of expansion without the kickbacks. Can't wait to see who we get on the schedule next winter.

Sadly, they're probably going to pair people up by expectations/history -- at least to start. I can see something like:

* UCLA - Indiana
* Arizona - Wisconsin
* Washington - Ohio State
* Cal - Michigan
* Stanford - Michigan State
* Oregon - Illinois
* USC - Purdue
* Oregon State - Northwestern
* Colorado - Iowa
* Washington St - Minnesota
* Arizona State - Penn State
* Utah - Some 8th Grade AAU team from Pennsyltucky

So nebraska gets to play Utah? **** that!
 
We never had a basketball rivalry with Nebraska.

I just want to get a BiG program that has easy flights in and out. The best might be Northwestern, considering all of the CU alums in Chicago.

I lived in Chicago for a while and actually opened a restaurant in Evanston once. I'd rather play DePaul. Evanston is cold and boring in the winter.
 
I'd really like to see the top 4 finishers from each season play in a preseason tourney the following year in some rotating location. Wouldn't it have been cool to see something go down in Vegas this preseason with UCLA, Arizona, Washington, CU, Ohio State, Purdue, Wisconsin, and Michigan? Granted, I don't think that would have ended very well for the Pac-12 teams this season, but that might be something fun in the future that would help boost both conferences' overall RPI.
 
Ehh, I suppose they're ok. I know they barely made the tourney last year but I don't think they are traditionally very good (including this year). What do you think?

I hope you are correct Goose. While Iowa is down this year they have two 4* recruits coming in next year and playing on the road at Carver Hawkeye Arena will do CU some good, Iowa gets good turnouts and it can be a loud/hostileish environment to play in.
 
Our collective RPI will sure get a boost with this. This is the worst the Pac has ever been. Who know's, will this help recruit that area better? (Jabari Parker please leave Chicago to be coached by your dad's ex-teammate :) )

Overall I think this is good for both the Pac and B1G. I've always wanted a stronger tie with that conference. It's been hurt by the BCS football thingy.
 
At first glance, this partnership is such a smart move and a 'win' for CU. Hope the details work out that way.
 
What ever happened to this? Googling around there doesn't appear to be much to this after the initial announcement, it certainly never panned out to what was announced.
