Where was the run game vs one of the worst run defenses in the conference?

Did we really expect a freshman QB in his first start to lead the team with his arm to a win on the road? Horrible

Agree, but we didn't play well either.

i agree while i didnt expect to win ....all of a sudden we cant even snap the ball? oline was a disaster... dropped passes.....poor play calling....special teams a mess.....on and on this goes

I thought Mike mac's strength was game prep ?
How many first quarters did we "win" this season? It seems like we get kicked in the teeth at the beginning of every game. That said, our lack of a cohesive offensive line is killing us.

I think that some people here have become convinced that turning a program from bad into mediocre or even average in just a few years is an insurmountable feat. I believe that they are wrong. If WSU and CSU can hire coaches that win games, we should be able to, as well.

It is truly incredible that three years ago someone thought that the right guy for CU to bring in was a small-school coach with well below a .500 career record and one winning season. We hired a guy with a losing record and that's exactly what we've gotten in return. And it's not all about schedule. In order for this team to turn it around they're going to have to either outperform other teams on the recruiting trail or on the field. That's probably a tall task, but this guy doesn't appear up for the job on either front.

You'd think that, in 3 seasons, just one time against a tough opponent, we'd put a complete game together and get an upset win. Just one time!

What about the previous hire, or the one before that? Thoughts?

MacIntyre may not be the right guy for a P5 program, but I do not get why so many are willing to gloss over what he did at SJSU. He took over a horrible football program and had them ranked in year three. If had stayed another 1-2 seasons, the record would likely have evened out.

Goes to show what a very good QB can do for a program. Mac needs Montez to be his next David Fales.

I have pointed this out before, but Wash State lost to Portland State this season. Now they are ranked and could potentially win the conference. WASH STATE HAS IMPROVED MORE IN 9 WEEKS THAN CU HAS IN 9 YEARS.

This is a fair point. There are some caveats, though. I wonder, in particular, how much of his success at SJSU is attributable to Fales? If MM is a QB recruiting/development guru, and getting that level of performance out of the position through either recruiting or coaching is a repeatable skill, then it's not fair to take that away from him because it's something that he can do again. On the other hand, if it was just a fluke, then that doesn't bode well for his future at CU, IMO.

Put in other words, when MM was hired, I expected him to bring in a QB like Fales. As far as I can tell, he hasn't brought in anyone even close to that good. I believe that if Montez was in that stratosphere that he'd have seen the field this year.

QB is just one position but it is the most important one and I believe that it had quite a lot to do with his good year at SJSU.

The foundational rot in the football program runs deep. How can we not win even one of these PAC games against a higher ranked opponent? CU has turned ****ting the bed into an art form.

Oddly enough, a lot of posters in the score prediction thread thought just that. We should be able to hang better than we did with this WSU team. Provides funny reading thought - a smug WSU fan is hilarious IMO.

I don't know what fans expected. A 4-7 team starting a freshman backup QB on the road against a Top 25 team. A 24 point difference is about right, although I expected more like 49-24 than 27-3.

This is a little thing, but it rubbed me the wrong way that MM was in full on blizzard gear while his guys are in short sleeves. Leavitt rocking a regular old sweatshirt and baseball cap is about where MM should have been too. MM looked silly. I think this is a stupid point myself, but something about it didn't seem right.

Couple of coug fans in front of us kept asking me why we don't run the ball more. The only explanation i could give was , our OC and HC are trying to suprise you by doing the opposite of what makes sense.

Two players on this team, both seniors, should be playing much better and have played worse this year than their sophmore season. Two critical positions also.

Awuzie and thompson are studs. We need 85 more.

I feel like Spruce, Fields, and Apsay were the only offensive players who wanted to be there last night.

that was a very discouraging game at this point in the "rebuild" and at this point in the season.

He gets credit for having a good season but did he rebuild the program. They played in one of the weakest conferences and they got a very good JUCO QB which resulted in a very good season. As a side note, the guy who recruited Fales to SJSU (John DeFilippo) left the staff and went to the Raiders.
