His teams were so undisciplined and lost in some pretty hilarious ways. While he was there, I obviously cheered for them to lose every game. Nothing against him personally although I didn't really like how much shouting he did in his player's faces but they all seemingly loved him so whatevs.

But the man openly complained about how hard it is to recruit to Lincoln, pissed off their fanbase and their homerific media every chance he got because he hated them, made his players hate their delusional fans, and said "**** our fairweather fans."

So now I kind of like him and hope he gets hired by a B1G school after he's done milking Nebraska for extra $$$ lol.

Are Nebraska fans the most delusional fan base about the relevancy of their program and where it sits in the current and future hierarchy of college football?

Probably, just because they still think they're elite, or maybe one good season away from being elite.

I have to say that feel sorry for them in one sense: They didn't realize at the time what a terrible decision moving to the Big Ten would be for their football program. (Okay, two - they live in Nebraska, too.)

Big 12 would be so much more stable if Nebraska had stayed and West Virginia had not been added to fill that slot.

You also asked about history - this is just anecdotal, but I had a Nub fan tell me, in complete seriousness, that the Huskers in the mid-90s were the greatest college football dynasty of all time.

Are you kidding me? It wasn't even the greatest dynasty in conference history - that was OU in the 50s. Then you add Notre Dame and Army - just total myopia.

Edit: you didn't actually ask about history, so... cool story, bro....
