Some real good stuff in there:

* T-Shirts are being handed out to all fans at the women's and men's game as a "thank you"

* 5 sell outs breaks the old record of 2 for men's basketball

* Average attendance for conference mbb games will come in at a 9,800 avg, which breaks a record of 9,147 from the 1983-84 season

* 114,887 was the gross attendance record for a season (1983-84), which we'll break with over 117,000 this year

FYI: 1983-84 was Jay Humphries' senior year.

Also, Rivals reported on this round table discussion and also had this piece of info:

* Bohn said CU has exceeded its budgeted ticket revenue for men's and women's basketball "significantly" this season.

* Bohn said progress with the new basketball/volleyball practice facility is on schedule. He also praised CU fans for being patient and dealing well with difficulties on basketball game nights.

* Bohn said CU is the only program in the Big 12 or Pac-12 that does not have a donor seating program for basketball.

2 sellouts was the old record? eek. not surprised Humphries year was the last record (though even with Chauncey or the DH/Pelle/Morandais NCAA team that beat two final 4 teams).....those teams were almost very good (people forget).

What is a donor seating program

at OU and Texas, they are the seats you have to buy to get football and RRS tix, says my step-dad (OU hoops guy, but the donor section is apparently empty in Norman a bunch--minus my step).

Okay now we have two different answers. It could be like football, with the mandatory donation. Or like Oklahoma state football a decade ago where you had to buy football season tix to get basketball and no I did not get that backwards

Buffnik has the correct definition - donor seating is simply having a required donation to the Buff Club tacked on to the price of basketball season tickets in some or all of the arena...

prolly been like that at Kansas since DBT was a kid.

I would be willing to bet it will be like football with a mandatory donation, possibly waived if you already made the donation for football. There are plenty of basketball fans that are football fans too, but there is still a very considerable number that only go for basketball, and requiring them to buy expensive football tickets would be counter-productive.

I could however have seen them requring basketball season tickets for football season ticket holders back when football was good, and basketball stunk (I am willing to bet that is what TT does to show their high # of tickets sold)

My bet is all season tickets for basketball will go up considerably next year, with the good seats requring a donation.

I'd like to see the "Buff Club" lounge upgraded and make it a mandatory donation to get in there before rolling it out to the whole stadium. Say $250 for the season to get access.

The other thing I was thinking was how they could have "pre paid" meals that would come with your membership. That way you dont have to worry about waiting in the two lines to buy food, then get your food. Plus they would likely make more money as plenty of people wouldnt use all their vouchers. Maybe something simular to this:

$250 - Access to the Buff club
$300 - Access + 5 meals
$325 - Access + 10 meals
etc.

Way to go CU fans...stepping it up at the gates this year in basketball...should soften that $6.8 million blow from the Big 12.

have you been down there. Would you pay $250 to stand in an overcrowded room to wait in line for 10 minutes to buy an $8 coors light? Maybe if they had a NICE club room it would be worth it, but not for what they have now. I don't think now is the time to start grabbing everything you can get out of basketball. Lets get one of two more years of sellouts and then it is an option to start raising the price. We have a great opportunity now with dwindling interest in the Nuggets, we need to grab as many season ticket holder now as possible.

I'd argue if you were requiring a $250 Buff club donation that it would be less crowded. I've also mentioned before that I think an extra bar, and overall upgrade of the room would be in CU's best interest.

You probably could get away with just $50 and it will lessen the crowd quite drastically. It would be cool to also have some more to it, maybe like a half hour before the game when the players go out for one of their shoot around sessions, they run through the club room as everyone cheers them on, really make it feel special to have the "privilage" to go back there, not just so your able to sneek a beer or two.

I wonder if they could move it to the new practice facility? tons of room. I would just worried about the floor getting damaged.

thats probably not going to happen, but what other rooms do they have in there? I havent seen a floor plan, just drawings of what it will look like.

I have no idea, but I was thinking that right out of the glass door near the team offices, you can walk right into the practice facility. I guess the offices are going to move so the might actually have some room to expand downstairs and build a decent club room for us.

That would be pretty cool

you know for the 50k to 100k they spent on t-shirts they could have bought 10 more tv's for the club room. Another perlick quad tap and more seating, plus have had a ton of money left over.

I bet they didnt spend much at all on t-shirts, as they will likely have some kind of sponsor on the backs.

maybe sony can sponsor up some tv's and Great Divide,Left Hand,New Belgium,Avery,Twisted Pine,Tommyknocker and Dale's can sponsor up some beer

why not host a buffet and drinks at club level in Folsom and then shuttle donors over to the CEC every 15 minutes for an hour up to tipoff. and probably late one, knowing human nature and booze. you don't have to build anything. those facilities sit unused 350 days a year and are already paid for. staffing it shouldn't be a problem with the CU Housing food service system, CFC, UMC, and whoever does it Saturday football gameday.

I think we need to focus on halftime. There is nothing to do except spend money on beer and then go watch the 2nd half. I can find a million things to do before tipoff.

I hate just making my way from the car to the stadium twice (once to get in and one to get back) in the winter, there is zero chance I will mess with going to folsom. Even in the good weather

I talked about this with one of my close friends, I think requiring 4 or 5 kids and a coach from the football team to be down there pregame would be awesome.
