Couldn't he just be saying that they will not be targeting NFL coaches with this search?
Makes sense in that they would have to wait until the end of the NFL Season to get started. In college it is not uncommon to have an interim coach take the reigns of a bowl game if another opportunity presents itself somewhere.

My guess is that it's something like that - "we're not going the NFL route. we're not going the assistant coach route. We want somebody with head coaching experience in college football. Our next coach is currently a college head coach." He might be talking about a specific person, but I don't think that quote is any guarantee of that....

Just because it's his "favorite" doesn't mean he's going to get him. Hell, Bohn might be talking about Nick Saban with that comment. Doesn't mean that's who the next coach will be.
