Bowl Tickets

Whatever bowl the Buffs go to, I am going.

I would appreciate the thoughts of this Board on one question, though. I got an email from the CU Athletics (as I am sure that most of you did) indicating that they would take orders, or reservations, or whatever, for bowl tickets starting this week, with an email to season ticket holders this week informing them of the wherefores.

So, do I get tickets through the AD, or do I get them on the open market? I doubt that CU will give me a choice of where the seats are going to be, after all they don't even know the game. And their idea of good seats probably means row 3 on the 5 yard line, while mine is row 30 on the 50. I would obviously rather sit with the CU crowd, though, so there's that.

Any thoughts? What are you going to do?

And CAN YOU FREAKING BELIEVE THAT WE ARE HAVING THIS CONVERSATION!!!!!!?????

My bet is CU seats you wherever in their allotment is based on your priority value.

If you want seats on the 50 those probably go to local VIPs first in whatever market we end up in. I suspect most pass on those while some take them and just sell them on stub hub or give them out at work if its a corporate account.

Having done it both ways, there are positives and negatives of both. I went with the AD's chartered flight to Phoenix for the drubbing we took from Oregon. The plane was small and rather uncomfortable, but we sang the fight song most of the flight. Our groups seats were in the upper deck, but it wouldn't have mattered based on the game. The hotel we stayed at was packed with buff fans, but it was a decent bus ride to the stadium and rather isolated from the restaurants/bars.

The time we did it on our own was before all of the internet ticket sites, so it was just scalping at the game. But we got to stay at the hotel we selected.

Based on the ways you can get hotels and tickets online, I would personally go that route. The AD put on a decent spread back in 2001, and I'm sure it will be a blast this year after the long hiatus, but gun to my head, I would want to make my own plans. You can also ensure you get the seats you want from a StubHub, etc.

My two cents.
