Brady Hoke is an idiot

I hadn't seen that.

However, I think Herbstreit is on to something with him saying there are institutional problems at Michigan related to the AD and new culture. They're barely over .500 in the 120 games since Lloyd Carr's final game. Rich Rod couldn't win there. Hoke can't win there. It used to be that anyone could win there.

I can't find the article, but it was local, and it outlined why the AD needs to go first, and I'd agree. They need to clean house.

Did you watch the end of the game (there is a clip in the link I posed above)? Regardless of the institutional problems, such blatant disregard for player safety is unacceptable. This kid could've been killed, and it would've been completely preventable. With such a spotlight on concussions, it boggles my mind that this happened. He needs to be gone, now.

Anyone catch the last parts of the Michigan v Minnesota game and Hoke's incredibly irresponsible handling of his QB? Inexcusable. Not sure how Hoke can convince anyone he's committed to player safety now. Before I saw this I thought he might last the rest of the season, now I'm not sure he lasts another week.

Pretty disgusting based on the column.

I wonder if this reaches the point of negligence that would allow Michigan to avoid paying all or part of his contract.

For any of the lawyers out there, or others with knowledge. Hoke is a state employee. Would his contract contain something about using reasonable care to avoid putting others at excessive risk or endangering others through his negligent actions.

I know that as an employee of a public school Colorado law places certain requirements on me to act in a manner to not endanger others. Would something like this give Michigan an out on Hokes contact.

Hadn't watched it. Just did.

This is worse than Travis Wilson returning to the game last week after suffering a concussion.

Hoke is showing a complete disregard for player safety and has a history of this. If the Michigan AD had any balls, Hoke wouldn't coach another game there. I'd feel that way even if it was a successful coach.

Michigan needs to clean house.

Looks like the AD there is under some serious fire and criticism from former FB players...

LOL @ Harbaugh leaving the Niners and the NFL. People are delusional sometimes. If he wins at the Niners maybe he'll leave. But why on Earth would you step down to take a college job? There might be something with Miles, but then again bcs thought he was coming here after Hawk (or was it Embree?). :stupid:

That was some of the worst wobbling I've seen since that time Kyle Washington went up defending a pass and had too far to fall. The attempt to stand on his own afterward was a truly frightening moment. Michigan is in it bad. Going to have to start their 3rd string QB soon.

Jim Mora, Bobby Petrino, Nick Saban, and Steve Spurrier disagree, plus didn't the 9ers almost trade Harbaugh to the Browns this year?

Maybe he is sick of the diva aspect of NFL players, stranger things have happened.

Didn't meatchicken kind of slight Harbaugh when they chose RichRod over him at the time? Maybe he still holds that against them?

There is a good chance Harbaugh will be fired at year end. 49ers management/ownership hate the man. There have been numerous articles about this.

"The safety of our student-athletes is always our top priority," Brady Hoke said in a statement. "We generally never discuss the specifics of a student-athlete's medical care, but Shane Morris was removed from yesterday's game against Minnesota after further aggravating an injury to his leg that he sustained earlier in the contest. He was evaluated by our experienced athletic trainers and team physicians, and we're confident proper medical decisions were made. The University of Michigan has a distinguished group of Certified Athletic Trainers and team physicians who are responsible for determining whether or not a player is physically able to play. Our coaches have no influence or authority to make determinations if or when an injured player returns to competition. The health and welfare of our student-athletes is and will continue to be a top priority."

Now he is throwing the medical staff under the bus.

And he is also so full of it that he could supply the needs of two methane powered generation units.

In the old days they would have said Morris was dinged a bit. Current status they understand that he was one hit away from a potential permanent and debilitating head injury.

He not only should be fired by noon tomorrow but I would question the judgment of anybody who hires him for another HC job. He is a crippling injury and major lawsuit waiting to happen.

Regardless here, I believe Michigan fan will be perplexed and disappointed when they hire someone who is not a Harbaugh brother or Les Miles. Only way I see one of the Harbaughs entertaining the idea is if one is fired.

Mora was ****canned. Saban and Spurrier and Petrino sucked on the NFL. The only good HC to step down from the NFL back to the college ranks was Bill Walsh. And his second stint at Stanford wasn't very good.

Pete Carroll.

The Pete Carroll narrative gets clouded in today's generation because of his unparalleled successes as a college and an NFL coach this time around. Often getting lost in that is the fact that he was also fired for poor performance in the NFL. Twice. Hell, Belicheat got fired back in the day before he became some supposed genius.

Jimmy Harbaugh has seen mostly successes in his young coaching career at both levels so you hope if he goes back to the college game after a few years out that he remembers to check his ego and surrounds himself with staff members who are very accustomed to handling the unique duties and challenges that football at that level brings. Would help him make that transition quickly.

Not to nit pick but they are 42-39 since Carr left. I saw that and thought wow its been that long since he left.

But back to topic. I saw the video of what occurred and thought it was crazy they left him in. With the new culture of enhanced safety measures for potential head injurie I found it crazy for him to keep playing.

****canned. You aren't really good at this.

 I'm bored but I guess I don't understand your requirements. But if you are saying why would a successful NFL coach leave for college that goes without saying, why would they.

There are rumblings that the 9ers front office and players aren't real happy with how Harbaugh goes about his business. Proven by the fact that they would think of trading their coach to another team (never knew you could do this). I don't think it is delusional to think that a coach is sick of the pro game drama and would like to go back to coach in the college ranks.

Now he is throwing the medical staff under the bus.

Yeah, but at the same time, in the video I did not see Hoke evaluating the QB. Of course, I have no idea what the training/medical staff said to anyone, but if it were a CU player and Dr. Eric McCarty gave a player a green-light to return to play, I think that our coaches could be justified in trusting his judgment.

Harbaugh leaving might not be up to him. That might be a strange case of getting ****canned without sucking ass. It just seems to me that he wouldn't want to leave of his own accord knowing that his brother has a ring and he doesn't. And that the ring came at his expense. But I could see him rubbing people the wrong way.

In a way the college game suits him better where he could be a coach that runs the school ala Texas or a Michigan. At Stanford they didn't care as long as he was graduating players. Could you imagine him at a place like CU?

Harbaugh tried to trade himself to Cleveland this off season. He doesn't see eye to eye with the GM. His days in Santa Clara are numbered.

Hoke is an idiot, he has taken that program nowhere. After watching the video I am always amazed how unorganized a top D1 sideline is when crap happens. This is a heavily supported program with an average 100,000 people in attendance. There must be at least 40 support people on the sideline and nobody thought to get the back up quarterbacks ready to play. The waterboy would have been more effective than putting in a delirious Shane Morris.
