Sources tell BSN Denver that USC wanted to greyshirt Lang and he did not want to be greyshirted thus he signed with Colorado. Lang had also been offered by Arizona State, California, Illinois, Ole Miss, Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, UCLA, USC, Wisconsin and others, but ultimately Darian Hagan and the Buffaloes won.

Every major scouting service has Lang within their top 50 defensive ends for the 2017 class across the nation. The tall athlete from Maranatha High School in Pasadena, CA has 40 tackles in the eight games he played in as a senior last year. Lang has also rushed and received the ball at times and suites up in the winter on the basketball team where in his junior season he averaged 15 points and 7.5 rebounds a game.

Lang is signee No, 28 of the 2017 class for Colorado and the Buffaloes are two scholarships over their maximum allotted 85. He joins Jalen Sami, Jacob Callier, Carson Wells and Dante Sparaco as the other freshman defensive linemen.
