BOULDER – The Colorado Buffaloes dropped to No. 10 in the College Football Playoff rankings after their 41-10 loss to the Washington Huskies in the Pac-12 Championship. The Buffs were jumped by the idle USC Trojans, who are headed to the Rose Bowl.

Now Colorado, is going to San Antonio, TX. for the 2016 Alamo Bowl on December, 29 to face the Oklahoma State Cowboys. While the matchup still represents a top 15 matchup, it won’t carry the cache as the Rose.

The team took to Twitter right after the announcement:

Unbelievable.

#cubuffs HC MacIntyre on ESPNU on why CU should go to the Rose: We're Pac-12 South champs. We won more Pac-12 games. We won more games.

A few hours later in the team’s press conference the attitude had changed slightly.

When asked about the team not getting into the Rose Bowl, head coach Mike MacIntyre deflected, “We’re excited about playing in the Alamo Bowl.”

While dry, and a deflection one could see CU was excited about the prospects of a bowl game.

“At this point, anything postseason for us is a reward for us,” offensive captain Jeromy Irwin said.

At the end of day the Buffs were upset about their selection, but still excited and proud of what they have done in 2016.
