Matt, have you looked into getting one of those weird bend the letter code thingies to go with registration? Seems like that would cure these random spammers.
 
At least it isn't as bad as some of the boards.
I used to spy on a Red Raiders board once and a while and the Porn spam got so bad they shut down the site altogether.

Personally, I find these random spam threads hilarious for some reason. Of course I probably wouldn't feel that way if one of them showed up every 2 hours instead of every 2 weeks.

Considering the aggravation of 1 spam a month or that little ****ing box with the squiggly letters I'll take the spam.

I have used captcha for ages. It isn't full proof. I remove it we would be getting spammed probably every 10 minutes. Just the other day I removed over 100 accounts that never made it past captcha, it works.

At the registration step, it makes sense. I just hope it doesn't come to the point where it's required to post.

I completely agree with that, I was only suggesting at registration and since it's been forever since I registered I had no idea Matt was already using it.
