Who deserves it at this point? Speedy would win my vote but he is out, not sure if that eliminates him. Hansen maybe. I think the real heart of this team is Hartigan but he hasn't produced lately being hurt. Miller = NO. The vote will be up to the fans.
 
Who got it last year - I forgot - but I shudder to think who it may have been...sympathy vote?
 
The four criteria are: Heart, Determination, Grit, and Desire.

I could see Sandersfeld, Cunningham, and Tau all getting some votes. As long-time players Hansen, Hartigan, and Miller will get their votes too.

But, I would think Speedy is the favorite. It doesn't matter that he is out right now. He is returning and has returned from injuries before. That is part of showing his "heart, determination, grit, and desire".
 
Speedy is one tuff guy and for his size he is my man. grit who has more grit? determination, for a man to take the load of running the rock like speedy has it's unmatched this year. An nobody should wonder about his desire.
 
I believe it is only for seniors, and with that in mind, my vote would be for Perkins. It seems like he's played his heart out, even tho the injury has hampered his production.
 
It will be hard to beat J. Espinoza. He hasn't played much but it isn't for a lack of effort.
 
I would give it to Speedy. Arrived on campus a total afterthought who was supposed to sit behind that 5* guy everybody was so excited about. Leaving as the #2 all-time leading rusher in CU history, and might well have been #1 if he didn't get hurt.

Hansen (Only because he arguably deserves it more this year than Cody did last year - he's battled through his fair share of adversity during his time at CU.)

If it is supposed to be given to a senior then the hands down winner is DBT.:nod:

Actually can't argue against Speedy who has been a true Buff. I also give credit to Perkins sticking through and playing with injuries that would keep him entirely off the field in most programs. Cunningham has battled since he got here, keeps his mouth shut and represents the university well.

For all that I vote Espy. He wanted to be a Buff bad enough to walk-on and has been willing to do whatever he is asked to contribute to the team. He has often been overmatched athletically and been called out as part of CU's problems the last few years.
 
Speedy - agree with the statement that he came here expected to be on the bench behind ds - instead he beat his pudgy butt out and the rest is history
 
Hansen or Hartigan. Hartigan seems to be the only one who still gives a fff
