4 of our 7 wins we have held the other team to 10 points or less. One of the games that we allowed more was only because asu's kicker hit 3 50+ yard field goals.

We have held 2 conference opponents without a TD and 2 others to just 1 TD.

Have held 6 teams to their lowest point total in a game all season.

Have out scored our conference opponents 175-96.
There should be a nickname for this D!

Don't think they are getting the credit they deserve. Yeah the PAC is down blah blah blah but to be this good with mostly under recruited players, in today's wide open offense focused game is remarkable. They really have only had a couple bad quarters all season.

If you had to put percentages on it, how much of this defensive rise is 1)upperclassmen maturity, 2)position coaching/player development, 3)Leavitt coaching philosophy/leadership?

Is it bad that I kinda like them under the radar, so Leavitt sticks around?

I'd say 50% upperclassmen, 20% position coaching, 30% Leavitt. My take away is if Leavitt takes a HC position somewhere else in 2017, they take a pretty large step backwards next year.

i'm biased and thrilled it's our guys i'm talking about....but, in 35 years of watching CFB ,i don't know if i've ever seen so much improvement on one side of the ball in a season.
one more year of Leavitt would do a lot to establish CU's D as a "force"....team and program identity type stuff. that would be most excellent.
