Bye Week Injury updates?

Forgive the new thread. But didn’t see much in other threads. Thought one place might be useful.

So it seems like bye week comes at a good time as we are a little banged up.

I just heard ankle on Mustafa, undisclosed on Viska, and sternum on Miller. But don’t know the prognosis.

Assuming other guys that came back during the game (Onu and all) will be fine. Also maybe with the extra week we get some guys like Maddox back.

Any news or word on the street?

I haven't heard anything new, but I would assume Maddox is out until late October. It sounded like he needed stitches and it's just a matter of getting the wound to heal, but I doubt he can play with stitches.

Really hope we have Mustafa back for this UA game. Our best defender by far.

I was at the game. Haven't heard a word but here are my observations / guesses:

Viska - Looked to be limping pretty bad at the end of the game. Was on the bench when he first came out of the locker room and had his face in his hands while players came up to him. Probably not good

Johnson - Limping around on sideline. Never had crutches. Maybe not too bad....I hope

Mangham, Onu, Wells, Abrams all came back in

Miller they said sternum. Hopefully he is fine

Ankle injury sounds better for Mustafa. I was worried it was a knee. If it is a high ankle, could be a few more weeks. We only want him out there at 100%, as his NFL draft-stock is too high and CU needs to do best my it's players. Same for Viska, although he can be an effective decoy. You need to scheme for Viska, even if he does not play or only plays a little.

They showed Mustafa in a boot on the sideline. Hopefully precautionary, but still concerning

Let's stick to not speculating on injuries and only relaying what coaches/players have stated. I'd prefer this thread be locked.
Fine with me. Usually very little gets released with HIPPA etc. I was just curious if anybody else had a feeing or observed.

Apologies. Didn’t know that’s what “we stick with” as I saw a lot of conversation in other threads but it was more random in occurrence. But you are right. Smart call. Lock or delete or whatever.

So serious question. Do I need to do something for that?

I didn’t mean to come off as dickish as the initial replying sounded. It’s not a rule or anything but I think most on this board would prefer we don’t do any speculating and only discuss what’s been officially released. Nothing really for you to do, it the mods want to lock they will if not they won’t haha

Not me. The whole point of this board is to speculate.

Absolutely no worries at all. Didn’t take it dickish one bit. It’s a good point and I agree 100%. I should have thought it through.

As you saw. I renamed the thread and contacted the mods directly.

All good.

apparently the Buffs have been off the last couple of days and might be why we have not heard from anyone on injuries

what is wrong w/ speculation? It isn't going to hurt Viska at all and it's 90% of this board. anyone want to guess the starters, the score, the crowd size, game plan, how SM plays, etc, etc.

Is that worse then posts that rhyme with "free runs"?

Of course that question is really about eating at Taco Bell, not toeing the line on a forbidden subject.
In this thread? Pun away. Like everything in life, it's all about knowing when you can show just how stupid and juvenile you are.

Speculating on who’s going to score, start, show up, execute is not the same as speculating on someone’s personal health. If you were in their shoes you think you would love it if a bunch of 35 year olds were assuming things like “oh he was pointing to his ribs” or “he has a slight limp.” It’s not just me but if you want to be disrespectful about their health, by all means go ahead.

You kidding? If I was a college player I wouldn't give two hamster-sized sh!ts if some mid-30's dudes were guessing what my recent injury was. Why the **** would I care? "Disrespectful about their health" my ass. There's nothing disrespectful in guessing what might be going on and using what evidence is available.

My speculation is we're not going to hear a word about their status until they are ready to play again. Tucker comes from the nfl, where they try to keep injury info as secret as possible and there really is no benefit for him to tell us anything about those injuries, anyway

Super bummed about shenault in general, though. We finally get a legit superstar player and we hardly ever even get to see him play

I wouldn't be surprised if we hear little, and that suits me fine. No reason to give opposition updates on our lineup.

This. You guys are going to be waiting a long time if you think you are getting any answers anytime soon.
