The roster at cubuffs.com says he's a sophomore for what's that's worth.
He'll be a good candidate for a medical hardship waiver (medical redshirt). You don't apply for that until after your 5 year eligibility clock has expired, though. So he's a RS-Sophomore now, but may have an additional year of eligibility when it's all said and done.
He had very limited time with the team in the Spring as he wasn't full go. Also seem to remember they asked him to concentrate on school about midway thru the spring. He is a wild-card for sure. The guy was a starter by his 3rd game on campus here and a beast. No one is counting on him, but it's possible he could be back and win a spot next month.
