Catholics vs. Convicts

Yes, good stuff indeed. I've been looking forward to this one for awhile. Good back story about the T-shirt sales

Nor was that TD catch complete - of course I'm now tainted by today's rules.

True, that definitely didn't look like a catch. But the alleged "fumble" came before that and undoubtedly would've changed the course of the last 5 minutes of that game

Haven't watched it yet but wasn't the whole premise bull****? I just heard some of the ESPN guys complaining about it because the producers were trying to say the Miami kids were offended from being called the convicts despite a ton of them begging in trouble.

This brings back memories of Miami and the old orange bowl of my youth. Their campus was 4 blocks from my house.

My dad and his friend flew up to Indiana for one of the games in this series. He said the kids in the stands had signs that read "you can't spell scum without UM" and "jimmy has no johnson".

It was addressed and basically all sides admitted it was pretty ****ed up.

to me the story was as much about the college kids making alot of $ selling tee shirts....just like when i was in school and a bunch of us threw a 100 1/2 barrel party and banked $7k between us

Agreed. The guy who made the t-shirts and made the money had also just made the Notre Dame basketball team as a walk-on, and then he was forced to give up the money (the front of the shirt had a trademark violation) and was kicked off the team. This really is one of the best 30 for 30 episodes ever.

agree it was.....ps. chuck todd makes me sick to this day

Another well put together 30/30. The sound of Lou Holtz' voice and the look of his face make me sick to my stomach but other then that it was cool. Does anyone really even realize the trail of destruction and sanctions that Holtz leaves everywhere he goes? Catholics vs Convicts was a fitting name but I question who were the catholics and who were the convicts

I wouldn't go that far, I am not sure it cracks the top 10. I found it entertaining, but "best ever" is a pretty high mark.

Holtz has got a pretty big free pass over the years.....he committed major infractions at Minnesota, ND, and S Carolina if memory serves.

i have a hard time with the supposition he's "one of the good guys".
