My first reaction is that Gottlieb is a moron. When I see Kentucky at #7, Oregon at #8, California at #10 my only conclusion is that he must have been on acid or merely was drawing teams at random. I know the Pac is an improved Conference, but I highly doubt we have 3 teams in the Top 10 this year.

The rest of the panel seems reasonable (at least in comparison). 5/6 have CU in the Top 25

It's so obvious why Gottlieb is blatantly wanking to Cal, too: His brother is on the staff. Not fooling anyone.

Between 20-25 is exactly where we should be right now, IMO. Quite fair. Can't believe I saw a few fans complaining on another site that one poll "only had CU 21".

I hope UofA gets into the top 5 by January. Stirring the pot with them today has been fun, and I want to blast them at their peak in Boulder.

Considering that we finished last season in the 35-45 range, I'm damn happy with 21.

And only one of the other 5 even have Cal ranked, at #22.

NCAA Basketball definitely has the best setup for regular season/post season other than the NFL.....NBA and NHL take forever and NCAA Football is a joke that will only get slightly better with 4 team playoff

What scares me is the unusally high number of CU opponents on that list. Cal, Oregon, UA, KU, Baylor, OSU, Harvard, UCLA.

They posted the consensus list today and I couldn't believe CU wasn't on it. Five of the six writers had us ranked, one as high as 16. Norlander must have had CU lower than 30 for that to happen.

It has the best postseason, but the regular season loses meaning IMO especially since were seeing less chalk recently than before with teams like George Mason, VCU, Wichita making to the Final Four. Duke can have a mediocre regular season, doesn't really have to worry about making the big dance, they'll be a force no matter. Sure they'll get upset occasionally. As a CU fan though, every game still matters atleast now.

People are seriously sleeping on our schedule. We may (will?) be a better team than last year, but with a worse record.

Yeah. It's not like we're taking on the dregs of the Big 12. We're getting the top three teams from the Big 12, plus everybody from our own conference. And throw Harvard in there for good measure - likely Ivy League champion. If we can get through the OOC with 3 or fewer losses, I'd say that's a huge success.

let's go into conference play winning more than 70% of our games. That would be a good start.

Why is everyone assuming we're going to lose all of our tough games? If that's really true why did CU ever get top-25 consideration in the first place?

Worse record than last year? You don't see CU winning 20 games?

We'll win some. We'll also fall victim to a couple we probably shouldn't. The key thing is just to keep in mind how tough this schedule is. Our record may not be as sexy as some might expect due to the nature of the schedule. I have my concerns early on about getting cohesion and the rotation flowing well, but everyone has that issue to some degree early on.
