Chaminade beats Texas in the Maui Invitational

At least UVA had the excuse of it being a stopover on their way back from a huge game against Houston in Tokyo. All Texas has is the "youth" excuse

Idk how Rick Barnes still has a job with Texas. They underachieve every single year.

Yep, playing them salvaged an 1-fer trip to Maui. (Although, played Gonzaga and 'Zona tight with a young team. Wasn't a bad showing, really.)

I look back on those extremely close losses to Gonzaga and Arizona as the first murmurs of life of the upwards trajectory that has us where we are today (and still ascending, I might add). It was an eye-opener, coming off that miserable 9-22 (1-15) campaign where we ended the season with 17 straight losses...then to see us losing in the last seconds to national powers Gonzaga, and Arizona in OT. We largely avoided any silly losses in OOC that year (yeah, we lost to CSU and got murdered at Tulsa, but nothing ridiculous like losing to New Orleans or Montana State) And by January we were knocking off top 25 Baylor, taking KU to OT in February, ending that miserable road losing streak in March and nearly making the NIT. The momentum was underway...

It would do this buff's heart good to not only to finally get scoreboard over Kansas, but also sweep Stanford.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Dec. 8th. So many times of playing KU extremely close and losing in the final seconds, or OT. We're due, right? This is a very good Kansas team (as it should be), but not a great one. I'm glad we get them on the road first though, because worst case scenario, we wait a year and then finish them off in style at the Keg as their fans get a rude awakening that the days of Allen Field House West are long, long gone.

Also, I would add that beating UCLA to the list of wins that would be good for the hearts of Buff fans. Can't let Stanford and UCLA keep owning us. Now is the time, rise up Buffs!

With the amount of money that Texas has, they have zero excuse to not be in the top 10 every year. Same goes for Football

And TALENT! They shouldn't have to leave the state to recruit AA talent every friggin' year! Yet, Barnsey wanders around the world, recruiting Toronto and Maryland for "one-and-dones", while homies like Roberson and Thomas are ignored.

pretty sure Chaminade beat Oklahoma last year or year before.

i don't know about Barnes. i used to sort of like the guy but he's coasting for sure since the TJ Ford teams. even the Durant team wasn't that great.
