Great career Chauncey :congrats:

Billups became an unrestricted free agent when the Pistons declined the second and final year of a contract option that would have paid him $2.5 million next season. The five-time All-Star had interest in playing with LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers after a workout this offseason and said he had "a couple of opportunities to play" if he wanted to continue. But after missing 185 games the past three seasons, Billups decided it was time to retire a little more than two weeks before his 38th birthday.
"It's just time. I know when it's time," Billups told Yahoo Sports. "My mind and my desire is still strong. I just can't ignore the fact that I haven't been healthy for three years. I can try again and get to a point where I think I can go, but I just can't sustain. Me not being able to play the way that I can play, that's when you kind of know it's that time.

He'll come back and do great things for Park Hill and Denver and maybe even CU if we're lucky. Congrats on a huge career, Chauncey.

Thank you Chauncey!!!!!:congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats::congrats:

Here's to seeing Mr. Bigshot at the greatest fan experience in the Rocky Mountains: courtside at the CEC. Roll Tad

Got to see him play at McNichols while he was with GW. He was awesome of course!

Melancholy.

It was a pleasure watching him play. Always a class act. Great Buff, great player, and a champion.

Sad that this day has finally come.

Bittersweet day. Chauncey was simply a joy to watch. Know he'll be doing big things for CU and CO basketball in the future as well. Now comes the time for another Buff(s) to experience half the success Chauncey did in the league.

One of the nicest/realest dudes I've ever met. By far my favorite basketball player of all time. I can't wait to see him courtside at the keg.

A pure joy to watch when he was playing at CU. He followed his dream and had the talent to make it last 17 years. Not too many people can say that. Not every player wins an NBA championship and is MVP.

I also believe Chauncey will do some great things for Park Hill, CU and Colorado. He's just that kind of guy.

Pretty sure he just bought a new house in Denver this summer.

The Pride of Park Hill

He's "The King of Park Hill" check the tattoo.
