24-hr cooling off period. But I'm still speechless. In shock at HOW low CU Buffs football has sunk. And my '12 expectations were LOW.

Maybe it's a good thing he doesn't say anything about us anymore

OSU is a big time Football team and the big sin was some Tats for trinkets..I would take that anyday of the week.

We need to hire him or tresses. We're desperate for some hope. Someone that is willing to revive our dead program. Anyone was the will and experience to be successful and a change of direction from the regents.

The sad thing to me is 2 years ago LSU was all but ready to run Les Miles out of town. We could have got him out of his contract and he would have come.

We went from roughly 12 million in net revenue from the Big XII to next year making 23 million from the PAC, which could escalate to 30 million. Yet we hire on the cheap, can some explain this business model, In my mind it is failed logic

Welcome to the board. Glad for your first post, since it sets me up for something I wanted to get out there and make clear.

The business model was that before the $23-$30 million could kick in, there was about $20 million in lost revenue between the 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 academic years due to Big 12 exit penalties and the initial year of no participation in conference media revenue during our 1st season in the Pac-12. CU did not have boosters step up and cover that or put together another $5+ million for a Les Miles type coach and staff. For an already cash-strapped and indebted AD, in December of 2010 there wasn't an ability to make the type of financial investment in a coaching staff you're talking about. But as you're also pointing out, the dynamics are different when we look at the possibility of hiring a staff in December 2012.

But even so the question remains, will Bohn put up the cash to hire a proven college coach or a coordinator from a highly-proven program? And will he be allowed to do so even if he wants to? They need to show me at this point because I have a hard time believing Bohn and the admin will step it up and do a complete 180 after they way kept Hawkins around far too long followed by the low profile hiring of Embree.

Caro's polite reference leads us to the logical Bohn Business Model question, then: "Why bother putting out money? Why not just accept ten of entitlement millions, spend very little and accept losing? Someone's got to lose and get all that free money!" Stop paying out-of-state teams to "come in a lose" - start signing up NoCO, Air Force, Denver U (do they even have a squad - wheee - even better!)...

These statements imply that the AD is in charge of the larger decisions related to our infusion of revenue from the P12. I do not believe the AD is truly at the helm. Given the larger political implications of smaller budgets, many "hands are out" at CU. The windfall from the P12 is a temporary reprieve from many of the ailments that the larger university is facing. Look -- we're going to need $5-$7mm to hire a real deal staff. I do not believe that the AD has the directive to spend that kind of dough.

As it was stated on another thread, the pleas of the average fan are not as relevant as the big $$$ donors. Perhaps an Allbuffs SuperPac needs to be formed in order to bring some leverage to the table?
