Coaches endorse 10th Assistant, No Fri Games & Dec Signing at AFCA

Glad on the early signing period. Hope it passes. Recruiting is too long and becomes too much of a spectacle.

I thought it was interesting that college coaches were totally against the June signing date proposal by the NCAA. I hadn't thought of it, but the points the AFCA makes are really good. June would be too early to have a good enough idea on academic qualifying. Also, it's very likely to lead to some players deciding to skip their senior season in high school and that would just suck for football.

I'm not aware of the AFCA and their history. Have this organization's resolutions generally resulted in changes to NCAA policy? Or is this representative of a bunch of people asking for for things they largely won't get?

Pretty sure it's the latter.

Then you must really hate the idea of letting redshirts play in bowl games and not losing a year of eligibility.
That's different than getting to play 4 games, but yes I also hate that idea. I don't think it's fair to opponents or players who played all season to have a handful of freshman suddenly become part of a game plan in a bowl game.

New leadership of AFCA wants to make the group much more active in voicing its opinions and driving changes to the NCAA. This is a new thing for the coaches.
