Sounds like Notre Dame's OC will be hired at Miami (OH).

Also, Dewayne Walker may be in line for the New Mexico State job.

Why would Walker take this job? Given his reputation, you think he'd wait a year or two until Skippy gives him a little more to work with, then set out on his own.

Maybe he's already seen enough.:lol:

exactly, if AU proved anything last year it was they don't currently have the personnel to run the spread (which is supposed to be an equalizer O, anyway!).

Tuberville as an established coach thought it was worth the gamble since he had some job security based in past success (right?!). Chizik is coming in with a 5-19 record...which, near as i can tell, hasn't exactly "wowed" the War Eagle faithful.

I thought I read somewhere that Tuberville was coersed into implementing the spread by Jacobs.

i'm not sure what the difference is? maybe Jacobs spread sucked (AU didn't have the personnel but NOW they do?), but he had pedigree with Troy. Malzahn is winning with Tulsa running the power I? Hiring Tulsa's OC is not like hiring Norm Chow.

it's Tuberville's decision in the first case. i don't think he hired Jacobs and THEN decided to run the spread.

let's even say Tubbs was coerced into running the spread by a first year OC...(?)....and now Chizik is going to bring War Eagle the better spread with the same players?

i would not be convinced as a AU fan.
