Northwestern is a unique situation given that they've never made the Dance. The fact he made Northwestern simply *competitive* was worthy of praise and thus he was tolerated. Now, the fact they kept him in 2008 after he went 1-17 in the B1G, with a 2-14 mark the year before was pretty remarkable. Yet, the perseverance paid off (in Northwestern terms), as they made the NIT the next four years and were on the verge of making the Dance a couple of those years.
Not sure I'd touch Chris Collins given how most Krzyzewski guys have turned out as coaches. However, he is from the Chicago area so I get the allure, along with the whole good academic private school similarity....there's just that small little thing of Duke's 15 Final Fours compared to Northwestern never making the Dance. Might be worth waiting around, but never underestimate Coach K's hard-on for Wojo. He just might try and stick around long enough to prep Wojo to take the reigns. Nothing would surprise me with that weird cult. Some WEIRD **** goes on behind the scenes at Duke.
