This was a fun, silly thing last year. So here goes for this year.

Following the Week 2 win over the Nubs, CU now has a nice base in the middle of the country along with a good chunk of southern Alabama. Beating Air Force in Week 3 would really make CU prominent on this map heading into Week 4.

We conquered Nebraska ... including Lincoln!!

What are these maps based on?

It starts off with every FBS program receiving "territory". Territory is determined by counties and proximity to the different universities. As the season progresses, you win new territory by beating opponents. When you win, you win all of your opponents territory, if they have any remaining. If you beat an opponent with no territory, then your "empire" does not change.

For example, beating ASU will grant us all the territory they currently possess, unless they lose to MSU. In that case, CU does not get anything.

we should donate all that newly acquired land to ISIS so we can bomb it a lot.

One of my favorite parts of every single season is when this thread pops up for the first time and is immediately filled with a few dozen posts that essentially boil down to

"How does this work?"
"That's ludicrous! [XYZ area] shouldn't belong to [ABC team]!"
"The whole ****ing thing is stupid"
Or
"That's not how it works. [Insert verbose pedantic explanation]"

A tradition unlike any other. Never change, Allbuffs.

I set my watch to it.

We also own southern Alabama! SEC inroads will be good for recruiting
