Alec Burks has been named the Big 12's player of the week for his performances in the Buffaloes last two contests against Texas Tech and the upset victory over the fifth ranked Texas Longhorns.

Burks led Colorado to two victories, as the Buffaloes won at Texas Tech (71-68) before defeating No. 5 Texas in Boulder (91-89). The sophomore guard averaged 23.5 points and 9.0 rebounds while shooting 42.4 percent from the field. His key performance of the week came against the Longhorns, as he posted his second 30-point effort of the season with 33 points and 10 rebounds. A total of 24 of his points were recorded after halftime as the Buffs came back from a 22-point first-half deficit. After trailing 58-43, Burks scored 11 of CU's next 14 points as his team pulled within three points (58-55). He has recorded 24 career outings with 20 points or more , fifth among active Big 12 players.
