Colorado has made contact with former coach Bill McCartney about the Buffaloes' vacant head-coaching position, according to a report in the Denver Post.
The Buffaloes announced their search committee on Wednesday, which features no members of the athletic department.

McCartney, who retired in 1994 as the school's all-time winningest coach, would not say who contacted him, when the contact took place or the extent of the contact. He declined further comment.
The move was not unexpected. Athletic director Mike Bohn said last week when he fired Dan Hawkins that McCartney would be "a viable candidate for us to consider."
