Deserves his own thread as well. Had a great game, played well under pressure, and didn't turn it over.

400 yards 3 TDs 0 ints while we couldn't do a thing on the ground? Impressive.
 
he had protection most of the time and reacted well to pressure when it broke down. impressive.
 
So exceeded my wildest optimism! Damn... Wow Nice Connor. And he was a leader on and off the field! WOW
 
Hugely poised; quick release. Very very impressive. We need to have a scout permanently doggin' that TX Baptist/Lutheran league.....:nod:

Great game by Connor. Looked very comfortable in the pocket and showed excellent leadership. I'm very excited for this season!!!
 
Connor played totally lights out. Scheme may have something to do with it but the change from last year to this has to be more about the coaching and encouragement he has gotten from the staff. He played the position incredibly well. I would say that was one of the better and complete games I have seen by a CU QB in the last 10 years. He can build from this.

He is a perfect fit for the pistol offense. Looks like the coaches are adapting the offense to fit what he does best like rolling out and some zone read runs and deep throws.

Yes; oaky notes, tight yet thoughtful spirals, pear-like overtones with a notable ability to scramble if needed. Goes well with a paring of roast ram or a light goat sausage, preferably from the Larimer County foothills...:thumbsup:

Their DL was slow; their LBs and DBs were okay. I seriously doubt Cent. Ark will be "faster" on "D", if they were they'd be moving up to da money, like UMASS and the other occasional FCS schools. Lot of difference when you only award 55 schollies and generally get everybody else's leavings.

Also I detect slight c unit of buffs stomping fools to the ground. I'm drunk and the buffs will smell blood in the water. Earthy home quaffs fill my nostrils with homely goodness yet my loins quake for vengeance against the PAC 12.

Nice to be here JCT. I have no sliver of a doubt about Nelson's skills and I now see that Connor's are deeply ingrained.
 
One gripe I have about Wood is that under pressure he locks on to PRich. DD's TD in the 2nd quarter was not-so-coincidental to PRich not being on the field. JMO.

Verily, the lightning quick horn of an enraged buffalo will in an instant so slashingly flay the evil and bloated heart of the hellish Sun Devil as to make mad the simple and shock the free....a drunken and riotous feast will be made of Sun Devil flesh. (Not an ASU fan.)
 
Connor and Lindgren...good combo. I wonder how long it will be before Lindgren gets hired away...looks like he's in the process of repeating what he did at SJSU.

Connor did a good job under pressure, no INTs, and can run. My only gripe...he missed a few wide open guys..I'm sure he'd like to have those back. I suggest more plays getting him out of the pocket on controlled rollouts. I'm sure Lindgren is reading this now :lol:

I'm actually ok with that. If the defense brings pressure, it pretty much means your receivers are in single coverage. If I'm the CU quarterback, I'll take my chances on a jump ball to P-Rich every damn time.
 
i would submit that any of the QBs the past three seasons would have been sacked on the second play of the game. They were all great Buffs, but so far Wood is the first legit QB in a long long time.

i am wondering if the staff slowed him down on the read option to keep him safe.
