One thing I've noticed this season and especially against ASU is that our secondary is much better at playing the ball while it's in the air than in the past. I used to get so frustrated watching them the previous 2 years, it seemed like every time the ball was in the air, the cornerback would panic and then just tackle the receiver for a PI or just flail their arms around blindly without ever looking for the ball, even when they were in perfect position

It's really refreshing to see that they are actually being taught proper technique again (I REALLY have no idea wtf Mac was teaching them the last 2 years). We almost had 3 picks against ASU because our guys had their heads turned and were looking for the ball.... They still need a lot of work in not blowing their coverages, but when they ARE in proper position, they have really improved in defending the passes. In fact, I don't think we even have a single defensive PI this season, do we? We used to have like 5 of them a game just because our corners would blindly runover the receivers because they didn't know what to do when the ball was in the air....

This actually kind of makes me miss Wigley. His big problem was that he was usually in proper position but never made a play on the ball, I bet Tucker would have coached him properly and gotten that problem fixed. He'd probably be pretty good this season if he was playing

I'm freaking glad to see that being taught. Seems like a lost art, anymore. That's at every damn level, it's not like dudes in the NFL don't do that very thing every week. You can't touch anybody anymore, hell, db's used to hold like a mother****er. I wonder what kind of numbers guys like Marino, Elway, Montana, etc..would put up in this era. There is no telling, you can't hit a QB anymore, either.
