Game planning has been ridiculously good so far this season.

They've had this team ready for every game.

Credit to the players, too, because they have clearly been studying the film and paying attention in meetings.

Team has been dialed in every 1st quarter.

loved the coaching... i've only had a few moments of wtf on the coaching so far...

the sefo take a knee and surrender series v. michigan at the end of the first half and then the "they are jumping the slants but we are going to keep throwing the same route" v. oregon today.

what i love the most, for sure, is that we are dictating the terms of the game on both sides of the ball. we are making teams with better athletes and depth get out of their game plans and play our game. that is a ****ing great coaching job.
 
They have been great for the most part. I would like to see the TE used more but wtf, we just beat the ducks in their house.
 
I think we all expected the defense to take a step up from last year. I'd say they've played at or maybe slightly above expectations. The offense is much better than I thought it would be. The Lingren/Chev experiment seems to be working about as well as anyone could expect. Especially early in the game, it felt like Oregon's offense was almost "slow" compared to the pace CU as moving. On TV the ball was being snapped before they had finished the replay at times. And that's even with the backup QB in.
 
The transformation of this team over the past 3 1/2 years has been nothing short of incredible. HCMM has made mistakes along the way and it's taken longer than many would have liked, but he has done it the "right" way, hasn't cut corners, and has instilled a great team culture. If this team lives up to its potential this season and wins 8 games, he will have earned any sort of extension and pay increase he receives.
 
Yea heard the comment from HCMM about asking Montez what and where should we attack oregon. He said Montez' eyes lit up, he already had some of his own ideas from all the film he had watched. Then the coaches let him run some of "his" stuff. That is showing the players trust from the coaches and respect.
 
CU didn't punt once on offense in the entire first half. It is truly amazing what the offense and defense has done so far this season. This tells you that they are very well prepared from coaches to players.

I think we saw Oregon adjust a little the second half and took a bit for CU to do the same, but they all have done an amazing job at this point and have no complaints. Keep it up!
 
Oregon had one of the worst defenses in college football last season. They appear to be bad again this year. The coaches did a great job preparing Montez to be winner as a back up and on the road. I'd like to see us solve the special teams challenges and come up with a way to hold on to the first half lead which we lose in the 2nd half. Otherwise, hats off to bunch of guys that took a last place doormat of a program and turned it around.

Where did you hear this? Not doubting, just want to hear/read it.

One of the post-game shows I watched had a talking head who had been a DC. He was absolutely ripping the Oregon defense. Their gap integrity was horrible, as he showed on film. Beyond that, scheme was bad. Like on the play when we hit that RB flat route that turned into a 20+ yard gain on the left side... the defensive design had an OLB on the defense's left (opposite side of the field) assigned to that coverage. Impossible for that OLB. CU's coaches exploited these types of thing with zone read runs and an excellent offensive game plan.

This. I'm even impressed with Lindgren...and I've given him a lot of crap on AB. Hopefully what took Mac 3 years at SJSU is being done in Boulder in year 4!

What do you expect from a wooleyirene loser.
 
I want to give credit to Coach MMAC for taking some things off of BL plate and let him focus on coaching the QBs a little more. Its easy to credit Coach Chev with offense improvement, but I think a lot has to do with BL having more time to focus on and develop our QBs.
 
Leavitt changing the defensive alignment of the olb was genius. It made it very difficult for Oregon to get the edge. Tompkins and Leavitt putting a safety in that spot was a hard call but it paid off big time.

The Chev/Lindgren offense attacks what the defense gives them. I love the adaption of Lindgren. The route tree has shorter routes, the ball is coming out of the qb' hands faster. They are also pushing the field aggressively when we get one on ones. I was a big critic of Lindgren last year but I give him a ton of credit now for taking a look at what went wrong last year, engaging with Chev on his ideas and the TT offense and integrating them into a package that is unbelievably potent.

I also want to say other than our freak out on punting during the Michigan game I have not seen any signs of panic from the sidelines. No delay of ga,e penalties because we can't figure out what we want to run. No time outs because we don't want a delay of ga,e penalty and can't figure out what torn. No substitution issues. Just a much cleaner run team. I think the coaches grew up a bit as well over the summer and I am very glad we stuck with them for another year.

Players make plays, but coaches put them in a position to make plays and the coaches are doing it consistory this year.

Sacky pointed out bad defenses across the conference. And if you watch, it's mistake after mistake at UofA, ASU, WSU, Cal, etc... Lack of discipline and/or blown coverages, contain, etc.

The teams that play smart, mistake-free football? UW, Stanford, Utah and Colorado. The rest are pretty much a hot mess at times. Probably it's just my preference, but I happen to think Shaw, Petersen and Whittingham are the top coaches in the league.
 
The game planning and pre-game preparation has been masterful this year, outside of special teams. Hats off.

We've come out in the 1sr quarter throwing haymakers each game.
 
Watching #therise segments on YouTube you get the feeling that unity and discipline have been taken to a new level this year. I love hearing a chorus of "YES SIR" when a a coach asks a question of the team. They're on the same page this year...
 
My loan grip of the coaching staff is the play call on the first interception. We had run 4 time for 44 yards and 3 first downs.

We had momentum, they were on their heels. If we keep going we can really demoralize the team and get them to really hang their heads. The int let them back into the game.
