It's an inside joke
It is Tad's job to keep this guys concentrated on Texas Southern and Wyoming, but CSU is hyped about the basketball game against us. They aren't getting much respect nationally and have clearly circled the game against us to come out with everything they have.

This game could end up being very important on both teams schedules.

The Rams can go a long way toward getting national attention by beating in-state rival, No. 19 Colorado on Dec. 5 in Boulder. Lose that game, however, and there are no shots to turn a national spotlight on the program until more than a month later in the MW season opener at San Diego State.

And I really hope we don't forget about WYO by looking forward to CSU. Pretty big stretch coming up for the mighty buffaloes of colorado.
 
Nothing new here. They ALWAYS do this in every single sport.

However, last I checked, we owe them one. And I highly doubt getting our boys motivated will be an issue.

CSU fans better not be able to get tickets for 15 bucks in a giant group like CU fans did at their arena last year. Hell I hope they can't get tickets for 50 bucks as general admission.
 
This is legitimately a big game. Cancel-school-that-day-cause-every-student-should-be-waiting-to-get-into-the-Keg big.

Huh, you're right. I thought i saw them being just on the outside of the top 25 a few weeks ago and would have figured they got in since they haven't lost since then.
 
They've been hovering right outside Top 25. If you read that blog in the OP you will see that Eustachy is all upset by their lack of respect

Bite me! Its "in-state, two-teams-from-last-year's-Dance+pay-back" big, BIG!

Both these teams should be headed to this year's Dance, as well. It will mean something to the Selection Committee at the proper time.
 
CSU got 1 vote to be ranked in both the AP and Coaches Polls this week, meaning they're "ranked" in the upper 40s right now.
 
As the C-Unit posted in another thread, this game is a black out game. Spread the word.
 
Now it is going to be very rowdy haha. I can't wait until Wednesday. Just hope we are both undefeated by then.
 
CU's Basketball Twitter feed just responded to my question saying that they're going to be giving out black Pepsi t-shirts as well.

Yep an official Black Out. It has been a while... They are serious about making CEC the toughest place to play in the West.
 
I don't mean it's not a big game, because it is. It will the biggest game of the season so far. This is the type of game that CU needs to win to justify their ranking and to show everyone that, yes, we are for real.
 
I thought all basketball games were "blackout" games? Isn't that the color for bball games?

Yes, the MBB home color is supposed to be black. Students should wear black to every game but calling the CSU game an “official blackout” encourages everybody to wear black. So, spread the word, wear black, and hate CSU.
